Job summary

The Highland Council is seeking a Senior Manager (Pathways and Lifelong Learning) to lead the Employability Pathways and Lifelong Learning teams, including daily management of Employability Services and Community Learning and Development. The role involves developing strategic and operational objectives aligned with council priorities and ensuring strong performance monitoring and governance.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent, substantial experience leading multi-disciplinary teams,

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level; or hold a qualification in an appropriate field; and/or able to demonstrate a high level of practical experience and expertise in relevant environment.
• Experience of leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary team of staff.
• Experience of strategic leadership within Community Learning and Development, Employability, Lifelong Learning, Skills Development or a closely related service area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Employability Pathways and Lifelong Learning teams and related functions.
• Develop and implement strategic and operational objectives in line with Council priorities.
• Undertake regular performance monitoring, service planning, audit compliance and financial governance.
• Ensure the Council meets statutory duties as described for Community Learning and Development.
