Job description

Senior Manager, Insight & Foresight At Chanel, we are focused on creating an inclusive culture that nurtures personal growth, contributing to collective progress. We believe the uniqueness of each individual increases the diversity, complementarity and effectiveness of our teams. We strongly encourage your application, as we value the perspective, experience and potential you could bring to CHANEL.

About the role: CHANEL is looking for a Senior Manager to join our Insights team in New York. This is a high-impact role for a strategic, analytically rigorous thinker who can operate at the intersection of consumer understanding, client intelligence, cultural foresight, business strategy, and executive advisory. The Senior Manager will act as a trusted thought partner to CHANEL’s three divisions — Fragrance & Beauty, Fashion, and Watches & Fine Jewelry — helping answer priority brand and business questions through a consumer, client, market, cultural, competitive, and future-oriented lens. This role will lead complex workstreams, synthesize disparate sources of evidence, develop clear strategic recommendations, and support decisions that shape how CHANEL understands its clients, protects brand equity, and prepares for the future of luxury. This role is well suited to a high-caliber candidate from an insights, strategy, management consulting, investment banking, analytics, research, or luxury brand strategy background who is energized by the opportunity to influence meaningful business decisions.

What impact you can create at CHANEL: Serve as a strategic partner to Fragrance & Beauty, Fashion, and Watches & Fine Jewelry division leaders, helping define the questions that matter most and translating consumer, client, market, cultural and external perspectives into decisions and action. Stay abreast of category, macroeconomic, luxury, competitive, and consumer trends to help contextualize business performance, anticipate shifts in the marketplace, and inform more forward-looking business decisions. Lead high-visibility workstreams from problem definition through recommendation, bringing the structure, logic, and executive presence expected in a top-tier advisory environment. Lead, design, analyze, and implement proprietary qualitative and quantitative research studies, including study design, survey development, vendor management, analysis, storytelling, and executive-ready reporting. Support strategic research, visioning, and roadmapping efforts by synthesizing business, cultural, consumer, and external inputs into clear priorities, workstreams, and longer-term strategic choices. Participate in CHANEL’s Brand Equity research by translating brand perception, image, awareness, and competitive positioning into actionable recommendations that protect and strengthen CHANEL’s long-term desirability. Support the Voice of Client practice through client experience measurement, KPI setting, reporting, action planning, dashboard/data integrity, and the expansion of client experience use cases across the organization. Partner with Global Insights on locally relevant Global work and studies, ensuring the US market perspective informs broader House learning where appropriate.

You are energized by: Solving high-stakes, ambiguous business questions where there is no obvious answer. Working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment with division, Corporate, Global, and external partners. Navigating complexity, ambiguity, transformation, and change with curiosity, rigor, and sound business judgment. Collaborative brainstorming, ideation, and translating abstract future-facing themes into concrete business implications. Mastering new tools, methodologies, emerging technologies, and innovative analytical thought leadership. Storytelling with complex data sets, research findings, cultural signals, commercial context, and strategic implications. Keeping current with industry news and exhibiting curiosity about luxury, culture, media, consumer behavior, innovation, capital markets, and the wider external landscape. Building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders through clear, evidence-based recommendations.

What you will bring to the team: 8+ years of experience within insights, strategy, management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, research, foresight, or a similarly rigorous strategic role; experience with luxury and/or global brands preferred. Experience with designing quantitative and qualitative research – including end-to-end survey writing, testing, fielding and analysis – client/customer experience measurement tools, or research platforms preferred. Analytical fluency and the ability to distill complex data, insight, and analysis into a coherent, persuasive story for senior audiences. Strong organization and workstream management skills, with the ability to track initiatives, maintain momentum, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Strong command of research synthesis, market and competitive analysis, client and consumer intelligence, and the ability to turn complex evidence into clear recommendations. A strategic, future-oriented mindset and curiosity about consumers, clients, luxury, culture, markets, innovation, and the external forces shaping business. Strong communication and presentation skills, including the poise, precision, and credibility to represent CHANEL with internal and external audiences and senior stakeholders. Experience using data and insight to craft executive-ready narratives, presentations, white papers, and recommendations that are clear, elegant, commercially relevant, and action-oriented. Highly collaborative, emotionally intelligent, flexible, and adaptable across different environments, ways of working, and stakeholder needs.

Position Logistics: Years of experience: 8+ years Education Requirements: BA required, MBA preferred Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the New York location/office.

What skills you will learn? What experiences might you have? Shape an enterprise capability at the intersection of client understanding, brand stewardship, market intelligence, and future readiness. Gain meaningful exposure to the US President, Management Committee, senior leadership, Divisions, Corporate functions, and Global partners. Contribute to important brand and business decisions by translating insight and foresight into clear recommendations and strategic choices. Build a distinctive US market perspective that informs both local priorities and broader House learning.
