Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices is seeking a seasoned leader for its Datacenter GPU Product Application Engineering team. You will guide a high‑performing group focused on enabling and supporting Data Center GPU customers globally, partnering with large‑scale customers and ODM ecosystems to bring AI server platforms to market.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in customer-facing engineering roles in data center, GPU, cloud, or HPC environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of AMD GPU architecture and ROCm stack.
  • Experience supporting large-scale deployments in Cloud or HPC settings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Application Engineers validating AMD GPU products in AI server platforms and supporting ODM factory operations.
  • Oversee triage, debugging, and resolution of customer issues with internal teams.
  • Serve as primary escalation point for complex customer engineering challenges and ensure satisfaction.
  • Advise customers and ODM partners on AMD tools, validation methodologies, and test interpretation.
  • Collaborate with ODM factory teams to develop manufacturing scripts and test programs.
  • Represent the team in strategic planning forums and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Onboard and mentor new hires and contractors; manage hardware resources.

THE ROLE

Join AMD’s Datacenter GPU Product Application Engineering team to lead a high‑performing group of engineers focused on enabling and supporting Data Center GPU customers globally. In this highly customer‑centric leadership role, you will partner closely with large‑scale customers and their ODM ecosystem to bring next‑generation AI server platforms powered by AMD Instinct™ Accelerators to market—and ensure successful deployment and operation within customer data centers. You will serve as the technical and strategic leader for customer engagements, spanning validation, factory enablement, issue resolution, and scaled deployment, while representing the team across cross‑functional and executive stakeholders.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical leader with deep experience in customer‑facing engineering roles within data center, GPU, cloud, or HPC environments. You are equally comfortable leading teams, engaging directly with customers and ODM partners, and driving complex technical issues to resolution. You combine strong technical depth with excellent communication, execution, and people leadership skills. You are proactive, highly organized, and thrive in fast‑paced environments where customer success and technical excellence are tightly linked.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of Application Engineers engaged in validating AMD GPU products within AI server platforms, supporting ODM factory operations, and enabling customer deployments.
  • Issue Resolution: Oversee the triage, debugging, and resolution of customer issues, ensuring timely coordination with internal engineering and product teams.
  • Escalation Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex customer engineering challenges, driving resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Guidance: Advise customers and ODM partners on AMD tools, validation methodologies, and interpretation of test results.
  • Manufacturing Enablement: Collaborate with ODM factory teams to develop manufacturing scripts and test programs that ensure reliability at scale.
  • Customer Communication: Contribute to the creation and review of technical presentations, training materials, and other customer‑facing documentation.
  • Resource & Onboarding Management: Oversee hardware resource allocation and lead onboarding and enablement for new hires and contractors.
  • Strategic Representation: Represent the team in strategic planning forums and cross‑functional initiatives.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Solid years in technical customer‑facing roles such as Application Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Solutions Architecture.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams in data center or GPU‑focused environments.
  • Deep understanding of AMD GPU architecture, ROCm software stack, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Proven experience supporting large‑scale deployments in Cloud or HPC settings.
  • Familiarity with customer engagement workflows including onboarding, triage, and escalation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, and executive teams.
  • Experience in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring technical talent.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
