Job description

About Pret A Manger: Building the US Future of a Beloved Global Brand

Pret US is at a defining moment. Backed by substantial investment and strategic commitment, we are transforming a beloved brand in the American market. With a newly established US Board and senior leadership team, we are assembling exceptional talent to drive this ambitious vision forward.

This is an opportunity to join a winning team built on an ownership mindset, rapid learning, bias for action, and competitive drive. Our ideal candidates are resilient, flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, and data-driven. We are seeking leaders who thrive in dynamic, high-stakes environments and are energized by the challenge of building something remarkable.

As part of the Pret US team, you will work directly with seasoned leaders who understand turnarounds, scaling operations, and delivering results. If you are driven to exceed ambitious goals, make bold decisions, and build a brand that matters, this is where you belong. Join us in writing the next chapter of Pret in America.

About the Role

You’ll be the financial engine behind how Pret US plans, measures and grows. As Senior Manager, FP&A, you’ll own budget variance analysis, monthly forecasts, P&L accuracy and performance reporting for our US business. You will help turn shop-level numbers into clear decisions for Operations, People, Marketing and the North America leadership team.

This is a strategic role that requires you to be hands‑on and determined. You’ll shape where the business invests and how it grows, and you’ll also roll up your sleeves to dig through the data, fix the model before a Board review, and chase down the number that doesn’t tie. You’ll work with the VP of Finance to build the models, tell the story behind the numbers, and partner closely with shop operators who live and breathe sales, labor and margin every day.

Key Responsibilities
Planning, forecasting & performance management
  • Play a key role in Monthly Business Reviews with the US Leadership Team and US Board: build the materials, present performance and answer for the numbers
  • Own the shop P&L portfolio and explain actuals vs. budget, forecast and prior year by their real drivers: transactions, average check, mix, labor productivity, food cost inflation and waste
  • Build bridges, scorecards and short written narratives that tell leaders what happened, why, and what to do next
  • Oversee the monthly close review with Accounting, ensuring accurate accruals and variance explanations
  • Run a weekly KPI cadence with Operations so issues surface in days, not at month-end
  • Partner with Real Estate on lease evaluations and remodel, relocation and closure decisions
  • Lead post-opening reviews against the original business case and run ongoing portfolio health assessments, flagging underperforming shops with recommended actions
  • Evaluate pricing, promotions, menu and channel economics (in-shop, delivery, subscription) with Marketing and Commercial teams
Labor, cost & productivity
  • Partner with Operations and People on labor planning, scheduling productivity and headcount, across four markets with different wage, scheduling and benefit laws
  • Model the cost of pay increases, incentive programs and staffing model changes before they launch
  • Size, track and validate cost savings and productivity initiatives with clear baselines, so planned savings are matched by realized savings
Systems & process
  • Define core shop performance metrics and build scalable reporting that improves visibility across the business
  • Drive automation and improvements across planning and reporting tools, and represent FP&A in system implementations (e.g. Workday Adaptive Planning)
  • Strengthen data integrity, controls and forecast accuracy
Required Experience
  • 6+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, investment banking or operations finance experience
  • Experience in restaurant, QSR, retail or another consumer business with a physical store footprint (preferred)
  • Expertise in store-level P&Ls, four-wall economics and capital investment analysis (IRR, NPV, payback)
  • Track record of owning budget and forecast cycles and translating operating drivers into financial outcomes
  • Experience sizing and tracking cost savings or productivity initiatives from business case through realized benefit
  • Expert Excel modeling, including building forecasts and three-statement models from scratch; strong PowerPoint
  • Experience with planning systems, BI tools and an ERP
  • Strong understanding of accounting, including accruals and month-end close
  • Ability to turn complex data into a simple story with a clear recommendation, for finance and non-finance audiences alike
  • Comfortable building systems and processes from scratch in a fast‑changing environment
Education
  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA or CPA preferred)
Benefits and Salary
  • Competitive salary and performance bonus (targets 25% annual)
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays
  • Free Pret food and coffee
  • Professional development and career growth within a global brand
  • The pay range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000. Compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and the specific work location of New York, New York, United States. In addition, you will be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
