Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager in External Research and Development to lead strategic opportunities in Oncology. You will drive global due diligence, identify external partnerships, and collaborate with R&D, Commercial, and Legal to shape licensing, collaborations, and potential acquisitions.

We value a doctorate or advanced degree with 2+ years in biotech/pharma business development, outstanding scientific acumen, and exceptional communication.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of drug development industry and/or business development experience.
• Masters degree and 4 years of BD and/or drug development experience.
• Bachelors degree and 6 years of BD and/or drug development experience.
• Associates degree and 10 years of BD and/or drug development experience.
• High school diploma with 12 years of BD and/or drug development experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prioritize, and evaluate innovative therapeutic opportunities from early preclinical to clinical and commercial stages.
• Lead strategic discussions with senior management to develop licensure or M&A priorities.
• Source opportunities via networking, conferences, pipelines and industry leaders.
• Collaborate with product teams to evaluate potential oncology collaborations.
• Guide cross-functional evaluations with R&D, Commercial, Legal, IP and other functions.
• Provide recommendations and ensure efficient decision-making processes.
• Work with Business Development to ensure deal structures and valuations meet goals.
• Maintain thorough record keeping and share BD vision internally and externally.
