We're looking for a Senior Manager to lead the data strategy and the teams responsible for Apple's Environment, Supply Chain & Innovation (ESCI) data foundation — the system of record behind Apple's reporting on labor and human rights, supplier readiness & development, community engagement, materials, carbon, chemistry and resources. This work underpins both Apple's public commitments and the assurance and audit processes that stand behind them.In this role you'll own the product vision end-to-end, from strategy and roadmap to hands-on execution with cross-functional teams spanning Product Managers, Designers, Software and Platform Engineers. You'll inherit a portfolio of systems at mixed maturity including environmental metrics and supplier-facing tools. A core part of the job is sequencing and balancing resources and being clear with internal and cross functional partners about priorities.You'll be a people-first leader who can grow and mentor a high-performing team while aligning everyone around a shared vision and navigating trade-offs between user experience, technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, delivery timelines, and driving Apple values.
You'll be based in Cupertino managing a team distributed between Cupertino and Austin and working across the full set of functions that depend on this data. Our team builds the applications and custom AI agents that enable Apple to manufacture every product we ship, and to know and report how it was made — including strict compliance with Apple’s Supplier Code of Conduct, the materials used, and the environmental footprint. It's high-impact work at the core of Apple's operations.You'll partner closely with:- Product Design and Manufacturing Design — the teams whose decisions generate the data we capture- Supplier Readiness & Development and Environment program teams — the full range of ESCI programs, including, labor and human rights, health and safety, code compliance, smarter chemistry, clean energy, carbon removals, materials, and resources- Legal and Regulatory — evolving disclosure requirements and strict data governance- Reporting and Communications — the external narrative and the numbers behind it- Business Assurance and Internal Audit — evidentiary standards, controls, traceability, and third-party assurance readinessYou'll be someone who anticipates problems without over-architecting solutions, who can distill complex challenges into clear, simple outcomes, and who is equally comfortable making a mature system quietly excellent and making the case to rebuild one that has reached its limits.Periodic international travel required (Shanghai, Europe) to connect with our in-region counterparts, supplier-facing teams, and the end users who depend on what we build.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $267,800 and $401,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
