J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Equipment Management to provide strategic and operational leadership for the equipment function across the company.

You will guide lifecycle planning, deployment, and performance, while building strong cross‑functional partnerships and vendor relationships. Responsibilities include leading a team, overseeing procurement and financials, and delivering KPI‑driven reporting to executives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 5 years equipment management experience.
  • Or Bachelor's Degree with 3 years equipment management experience and at least 2 years direct management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgeting, pricing, and total cost of ownership.
  • Ability to coordinate across internal partners and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for equipment lifecycle performance.
  • Oversee equipment transactions with accurate documentation and compliance.
  • Direct equipment projects, managing timelines, budgets, and quality.
  • Review requisitions, invoices, and contracts for accuracy.
  • Liaise with Legal, Fixed Assets, and other departments.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI reports and budgets.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and sustainability across equipment activities.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Contribute to long-term equipment strategy and planning.

By applying data‑driven insights and guiding long‑term equipment planning, this position supports safe, compliant, efficient, and cost‑effective operations.Job Description:Key Responsibilities:Lead and develop a team of equipment professionals accountable for the design, acquisition, deployment, operation, and lifecycle performance of equipmentOversee equipment transactions, ensuring accurate documentation, coordination with internal partners, and compliance with company standardsDirect equipment projects across assigned business units, managing timelines, budgets, and quality standardsReview and approve requisitions, invoices, contracts, and related financial documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policy requirementsServe as primary liaison with Legal, Fixed Assets, and other internal departments to resolve equipment-related issues and maintain accurate reportingPrepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking, budget forecasts, and executive-level presentationsOwn compliance with regulatory requirements, internal audit standards, and sustainability initiatives across all equipment activitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support business objectivesProvide strategic guidance on equipment selection, design, deployment, and lifecycle decisionsRepresent the equipment function in cross-functional projects and executive-level meetings, driving alignment with organizational goalsContribute to long-term equipment strategy and planning to support organizational growth and operational efficiencyQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent with 5 years of Equipment management related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field with 3 years of Equipment management related experience and/or military equivalent with at least 2 of which being direct management experienceAND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesKnowledge of financial processes such as budgeting, pricing, and total cost of ownershipAbility to adapt to changing priorities and business needsAbility to organize complex information and manage multiple concurrent projects with accuracyAbility to analyze information and make informed decisions using sound judgmentAbility to communicate clearly and present information to leadershipPreferred Qualifications:Experience with equipment design, pricing, and lifecycle managementKnowledge of equipment repair practicesExperience working with original equipment manufacturers to develop specificationsKnowledge of equipment design and feature specificationThis position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
