Upgrade is seeking a data‑driven Manager / Senior Manager for the Card Credit Risk team in a hybrid role based in Wilmington or San Francisco. You will lead portfolio analytics and policy design initiatives to improve overlimit, payment holds, and suspension policies while tracking performance to drive strong returns.

You’ll partner with product, marketing, and operations to optimize payment programs, employ SQL, Excel, and Python for analysis, and stay ahead with AI‑enabled innovations.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of experience in consumer finance, consulting, or other data‑driven backgrounds.
  • Experience with credit and analytics, particularly in a credit‑card policy context.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear, strategic recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Python.
  • Familiarity with LLMs and AI‑enabled innovation.
  • The ability to identify and articulate the business intuition in the data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance policies such as overlimit authorizations, payment holds, and suspension policies.
  • Track portfolio performance and surface insights to better manage existing customer accounts.
  • Provide credit‑risk support for product and marketing portfolio initiatives (balance transfer or promotional offers, retention / graduation, etc).
  • Partner with product to use payment alerts, digital collections UX, and other levers to enhance on‑time payment rates and encourage curing from delinquency.
  • Partner with operations on testing and optimizing payment programs, hardships, etc.
  • Develop and support strategic business initiatives such as migration of our legacy card product to our next generation cards.
  • Ongoing portfolio monitoring of policy actions and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with business, product, and other partner teams to deliver holistic and integrated business outcomes.

About the Role

We're seeking a data-driven and hands‑on Manager / Sr Manager on our Card Credit Risk team to drive a variety of portfolio analytics and policy design initiatives. Your work will focus on policies such as overlimit authorizations, payment holds, and suspension policies, and on tracking portfolio performance to surface insights that enhance portfolio performance and ensure predictable, strong returns from our Card product. This role will be based in our Wilmington or San Francisco office in a hybrid capacity.

Compensation range: USD $140,000-190,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
