Job summary

Headway is redefining access to mental healthcare in the United States. As Senior Data Science Manager for Provider Growth Product, you will shape data science strategy, partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Design, Clinical and Customer Success leadership, and drive product-led growth to expand Headway's provider network.

You will lead experimentation, develop quarterly roadmaps, and manage a high-performing team to translate insights into measurable improvements for provider

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles.
• 3+ years of experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong product mindset with experience in Product.
• Experience with marketing or product-led growth initiatives is a plus.
• Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, Design, Operations, Clinical and Customer Success teams.
• Proficiency in forecasting, experimentation, and causal inference.
• Experience with data modeling, ideally using dbt.
• Hands-on fluency in SQL and Python or R.
• Experience adopting AI-assisted tools to accelerate data workflows.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but most providers don't accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway’s mission is to fix this by building a new mental healthcare system everyone can access. We started by solving the biggest barrier to care: insurance. About the Role

As Senior Data Science Manager for Provider Growth Product, you will define and lead our data science strategy to help Headway grow its provider network. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Design, Clinical and Customer Success leadership to drive product data science to grow our provider base through product led motions. You will define the right experimentation and product data science solutions y to turn insights into measurable improvements.

What You’ll Do

• Lead marketing and LTV measurement initiatives

• Lead experimentation efforts in our product

• Lead and grow a high-performing team of Data Scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and strategic thinking.

• Develop quarterly roadmaps with cross-functional partners, align Data Science resources, and oversee execution of timely and high-quality work.

• Drive insights and decisions through strategic analysis, reporting, experimentation and predictive modeling.

• Obsess over provider growth metrics surfacing gaps and ways to continuously improve them

• Deep dive into areas we don’t fully understand to segment our data and understand where there’s opportunities to improve provider experiences.

• Stay close to the data by tackling strategic projects yourself, identifying underlying trends and areas of opportunity.

• Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles.

• 3+ years of experience managing and developing teams.

• Strong product mindset and demonstrated success working in Product

• Preferred experience in marketing, product led growth initiatives

• Proven success partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, Design, Operations, Clinical and Customer Success teams

• Proficiency in forecasting, experimentation, causal inference

• Experience with data modeling, ideally using dbt.

• Hands-on technical fluency in SQL and Python or R.

• Experience adopting and championing AI-assisted tools to accelerate and automate data workflows.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation

The expected base pay range for this position is $212,000 - $265,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an equity grant, depending on the position and level.
