Descripción del empleo

We're seeking a Head of Data & Analytics to join a large, nationwide enterprise organization in a high-impact leadership role. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team, shape the future of data and analytics, and drive initiatives that transform how the organization leverages data to make smarter decisions, improve performance, and fuel growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically credible, business-minded data leader who wants more than simply overseeing dashboards, reports, and deliverables. We're looking for someone who can own the strategy, develop the team, influence business decisions, and turn complex data into meaningful business outcomes.

You'll lead an established, multidisciplinary team of data professionals while serving as a trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders. With access to modern cloud-based data platforms, enterprise resources, and a broad portfolio of initiatives, you'll have the opportunity to shape how data is leveraged across the business.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable thinking strategically, partnering with executives, developing talent, and rolling up their sleeves to solve complex analytical challenges.

What You'll Do
Lead the Data & Analytics Function
  • Oversee a team of data professionals spanning data analytics and data engineering, providing coaching, mentorship, technical guidance, and professional development.
  • Establish priorities, manage resources, and drive execution across a diverse portfolio of analytics, business intelligence, and data initiatives.
  • Help shape the data and analytics roadmap, balancing immediate business needs with longer-term strategic objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Serve as a Strategic Business Partner
  • Partner directly with senior business leaders across multiple functions to understand their objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Translate complex or ambiguous business questions into actionable analytical strategies and measurable outcomes.
  • Go beyond delivering data and reporting to provide insights, recommendations, and solutions that influence business decisions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, communicate project progress, and proactively navigate competing priorities, dependencies, and changing business requirements.
Drive Analytics, Innovation & Business Impact
  • Lead initiatives that improve data accessibility, quality, consistency, and reliability across the organization.
  • Oversee the development and enhancement of dashboards, analytical models, reporting capabilities, and scalable data products.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage predictive analytics, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to improve business performance.
  • Support initiatives spanning operational efficiency, customer behavior, financial performance, forecasting, and business growth.
  • Collaborate with broader enterprise data and technology teams to develop scalable, sustainable solutions.
Stay Connected to the Technology
  • Maintain enough hands-on technical involvement to guide the team through complex analytical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and evaluate solutions.
  • Provide technical direction around SQL, data modeling, transformations, and business intelligence.
  • Help establish best practices for data governance, reusable analytical models, consistent metrics, and reliable reporting.
  • Leverage modern cloud data platforms and analytical tools to ensure the business has access to trusted, actionable information.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 8-10+ years of progressive experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence (BI), Analytics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing data professionals, with the ability to manage a team spanning multiple technical disciplines.
  • Strong SQL proficiency to be able to effectively coach, understand, troubleshoot, and work through complex queries and analytical challenges. Advanced SQL skills and experience with modern BI, analytics, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Omni, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, ThoughtSpot, or similar), with the ability to develop scalable reporting solutions, build intuitive dashboards, and deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with modern cloud-based data platforms or data warehouses, such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, Google Cloud, Redshift, or comparable technologies.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, transformation, data quality, and the principles behind scalable, well-governed analytical solutions.
  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated success partnering with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable data initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and prioritization skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives and navigate ambiguity.
  • A combination of strategic thinking and hands-on technical credibility, with the ability to guide both business conversations and technical problem-solving.

We recognize that strong data leaders come from different technical backgrounds. Experience with a particular cloud provider, BI platform, or transformation tool is less important than the ability to understand complex data environments, lead talented teams, and deliver meaningful business results.

What Makes This Opportunity Compelling?

Meaningful Ownership: You'll have the opportunity to lead the data and analytics function for an established business unit, with direct responsibility for the team's priorities, performance, and impact.

Visibility & Influence: Work closely with senior business leaders, helping shape decisions that directly affect operational performance, customer experience, and business growth.

The Best of Both Worlds: Enjoy the ownership and autonomy of leading a dedicated data function while benefiting from the technology, resources, and collaboration of a larger enterprise organization.

Modern Technology & Interesting Challenges: Work with cloud-based data infrastructure, modern analytics platforms, and opportunities to explore predictive modeling, automation, and AI.

Room to Grow: An opportunity for an ambitious leader to expand their scope, build executive relationships, and continue progressing toward broader data leadership responsibilities.

Who Will Thrive Here?

Someone who sees data as a business capability, not simply a reporting function.

You're naturally curious, hands-on leader, comfortable asking challenging questions, and skilled at turning complex information into practical recommendations. You know how to build relationships with business stakeholders, manage competing demands, and lead a team through challenges that don't always have straightforward answers.

You bring enough technical depth to earn the respect of your team, enough business acumen to earn the trust of senior leaders, and enough leadership maturity to bring structure, accountability, and momentum to an evolving data organization.

If you're a data leader who enjoys building teams, solving meaningful business problems, and having a direct impact on how an organization operates and grows, we'd love to connect.
