Job summary

Refresco Beverages US Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Cost Accounting based in Tampa to lead the cost accounting function for the North America Business Unit.

The role partners with procurement, accounting, operations, and FP&A to drive cost analysis, standard costing, and IFRS-compliant inventory reporting. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years in finance, an accounting or finance degree, and SAP experience; MBA/CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
• 5–7 years of financial experience is required.
• Experience with cost accounting in an SAP environment is preferred.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cost Accounting team on day to day activities and yearly goals.
• Enhance processes with automation and PowerBI.
• Provide monthly variance analysis and explanations.
• Develop material standard costs.
• Ensure inventories are accounted and recorded in accordance with IFRS.
• Oversee calculations for Lower of Cost or Net Realizable Value reserves and obsolescence reserves.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and FP&A on business projects.
• Ensure supplier rebate programs are correctly calculated and recorded.
• Maintain documentation of departmental processes.
• Interact with internal and external auditors and respond to information requests.
• Manage and direct the activities of direct reports and their employees.
• Understand SAP processes and their impact on financial reporting.

Summary Description

The Senior Manager of Cost Accounting primary duties include responsible for all aspects of cost accounting for the North America Business Unit, including maintaining policies and procedures, management and oversight of cost accounting processes, analysis and explanation of variances, assistance with budgets and forecasts, and oversight of data administration. This position requires strong accounting and analytic skills. This position works closely with procurement, accounting, operations and FP&A staff to maintain and enhance the company’s processes to understand and report manufacturing costs. This position reports to the Director of Accounting.

Duties

• Lead the Cost Accounting team on day to day activities and yearly goals
• Enhance processes with automation and PowerBI
• Provide monthly variance analysis and explanations
• Develop material standard costs
• Ensure inventories are accounted and recorded in accordance with IFRS
• Oversee calculations for Lower of Cost or Net Realizable Value reserves, obsolescence reserves and other valuation reserves
• Work cross functionally with other teams on business projects
• Ensure supplier rebate programs are correctly calculated and recorded
• Maintain documentation of departmental processes
• Work with internal and external auditors and respond to their requests for information
• Manage and direct the activities of direct reports and their employees
• Understanding of SAP process and how they impact financial reporting

Skills/Qualifications

• Excellent accounting and analytical skills

Education and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and/or CPA preferred
• 5-7 years financial experience required
• Experience working with cost accounting in an SAP environment is preferred
• Public accounting experience is preferred

Working Conditions

• Physical – Continuously sitting for prolonged periods using a computer, as the job is administrative in nature.
• Visual/Sensory – This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
• Work environment – Work and environment fasted paced, requiring ability to remain focused under pressure. Attention must be concentrated in the face of numerous changing stimuli.
• Mental Stress – There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, project management, accuracy or similar demands. Continuous requirement of decisive action.

Travel Requirements

• Based in Tampa corporate office with minimal travel requirements.
