Job description

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Contract Manufacturing Procurement is responsible for leading the entire contract manufacturing and turnkey execution network — daily buying operations, supplier performance, open order management, cost governance, and inventory risk — supporting JPMS business objectives.

Description

The Senior Manager, Contract Manufacturing Procurement is responsible for leading the entire contract manufacturing and turnkey execution network — daily buying operations, supplier performance, open order management, cost governance, and inventory risk — supporting JPMS business objectives.

Strategic Sourcing owns supplier strategy, governance frameworks, redundancy planning, and long-term network design; this role executes against that strategy across an open order portfolio exceeding $22MM at any given time and annual purchase volume of approximately $115MM, spanning multiple contract manufacturers and the turnkey supply base, with full accountability for supplier performance, liability management, commercialization support, and inventory exposure.

The Senior Manager leads a team of Senior Buyers and Buyers, as well as the Manager, Turnkey Procurement and the turnkey buying team; establishes departmental priorities; and serves as the primary escalation point for critical supplier, operational, and business continuity matters. At the Senior Manager level, contract manufacturing and turnkey execution consolidate under this single role, creating one point of accountability for the full execution network.

This role is hybrid and works 3 days a week out of our Santa Clarita Office.

What You Will Do
Operational Execution & Supplier Management
  • Lead day-to-day execution of the contract manufacturing supply base across multiple CMs.
  • Execute supplier performance expectations, corrective actions, and operational objectives established by Strategic Sourcing.
  • Execute supplier scorecard reviews using the performance framework established by Strategic Sourcing.
  • Maintain the Purchasing–Receiving SLA, including D365 receiving, variance, and PO-closure controls.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for significant contract manufacturer business or commercial issues.
Risk Management & Business Continuity
  • Execute supplier contingency and redundancy plans established by Strategic Sourcing to reduce single-source dependency.
  • Manage inventory strategies that balance service, working capital, and E&O risk.
  • Manage inventory liability exposure and supplier-held inventory, supporting mitigation plans.
  • Execute safety stock agreements and liability protections established for the contract manufacturing network.
Financial & Commercial Management
  • Lead commercial negotiations, pricing reviews, and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and execute cost savings, cost avoidance, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Manage procurement financial performance, including standard costs, PPV, and tariff mitigation.
  • Execute cost governance controls, including PPV governance and quote validation, for the contract manufacturing network.
Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Lead the Manager, Turnkey Procurement and the turnkey buying team, consolidating accountability for the full contract manufacturing and turnkey execution network.
  • Lead and develop Senior Buyers, Buyers, and procurement personnel through coaching and succession planning.
  • Establish departmental priorities, objectives, KPIs, and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies, SOPs, and governance processes.
Commercialization & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead contract manufacturing support for commercialization, technology transfers, and formula transitions.
  • Validate current formula and artwork data prior to PO release, partnering with R&D and Quality.
  • Partner with Planning, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and R&D to align procurement with business objectives.
  • Participate in S&OP to align procurement, inventory, and capacity strategies with demand forecasts.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve supplier and procurement effectiveness.
Requirements
Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, data validation, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Strong financial acumen managing standard costs, PPV analysis, inventory risk, and cost optimization.
  • Strong leadership, organizational development, and talent management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Advanced analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and reporting tools, preferably D365.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, or related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of procurement, supply chain, contract manufacturing, or supplier management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing buyers, managers, or procurement teams.
  • Demonstrated experience executing procurement operations and managing complex, multi-CM supplier networks.
  • Experience managing contract manufacturers in consumer products, beauty, cosmetics, or related industries.
  • Proven success leading strategic supplier negotiations and cost savings initiatives.
