Senior Manager, Commercial Insights AI & Innovation Solutions

Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA or Deerfield, IL site. You will work on-site a minimum of 2 days a week.

Live
What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. As Senior Manager, Commercial Insights AI & Innovation Solutions within Business Analytics & Insights (BAI), you will help shape the future of Commercial Insights at Amgen by bringing artificial intelligence (AI) into how teams investigate business questions, generate insights and make decisions. You will combine market research and analytics expertise with product management and technical fluency to develop capabilities that business teams can put to work.

Your primary focus will be the Market Research Agent (MR Agent), an AI-enabled insights platform and research co-pilot that puts analytical exploration directly into the hands of business teams, enabling them to generate insights that inform brand strategy and commercial action. You will lead its roadmap and evolution, working with market research leaders and technical partners to expand its capabilities, maintain research rigor and embed new ways of generating and applying insights across the business.

You will translate user needs into product requirements, prioritize enhancements and manage delivery across technical and vendor partners. This includes coordinating development, testing and releases; maintaining content and output quality; and leading onboarding, training and change management. You will use stakeholder feedback, adoption measures and business value to guide continuous improvement and future capabilities.

Working closely with Amgen India (AIN), you will also help advance AI-enabled quarterly business reviews (QBRs) into a forward-looking enterprise decision system. You will coordinate enterprise inputs from Brand teams, Finance, Value & Access, Global Customer Capabilities & Innovation (GCCI), Patient Services, Medical, Marketing, Sales and BAI, and manage agreed workflow requirements, delivery dependencies and output-quality improvements with AIN and technical partners.

As business needs and technology evolve, you will identify and pilot new AI applications across Commercial Insights and help scale those that demonstrate business value. You will work independently on priorities agreed with BAI leadership, coordinating delivery with AIN, Amgen Portugal (ACCP), external vendors and platform teams.

This role offers the opportunity to shape both the capabilities we build and how people work: establishing practical foundations for the next generation of AI-enabled Commercial Insights.

MR Agent product ownership and research quality
  • Own the ongoing evolution and operation of MR Agent, including research content, prompts, taxonomies, AI agent workflows, enhancements, issue resolution and release readiness.
  • Develop and maintain the MR Agent roadmap and backlog using business priorities, user feedback and performance data. Recommend enhancements and sequencing and managing work through delivery.
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative primary market research expertise to improve MR Agent capabilities and workflows. Partner with research leads to ensure outputs reflect appropriate methods, acknowledge research limitations and support sound interpretation.
  • Coordinate content refreshes and enhancements with research agencies and technical partners. Work with research leads to validate accuracy, source traceability and usability, and maintain clear documentation of capabilities, limitations and user guidance.
  • Serve as the primary business contact for MR Agent, resolve product and delivery issues independently, and elevate material risks, scope changes or resource needs to BAI leadership.
AI-enabled QBRs with AIN
  • Partner closely with AIN to deliver and improve the AI-enabled QBR process. Coordinate cross-functional inputs, timelines, quality checks and feedback with BAI and enterprise partners.
  • Support AI-enabled evidence synthesis and executive memos using approved sources. Work with source owners to confirm key performance indicator (KPI) definitions, reporting periods and forecast versions, and distinguish findings, hypotheses, recommendations and evidence gaps.
  • Coordinate functional review and human approval of AI-supported outputs. Help translate the analysis into clear business implications, choices and recommendations for leadership discussion.
  • Track decisions, actions, owners and timing, and translating stakeholder feedback into practical improvements for subsequent review cycles.
Future AI use cases
  • Identify and scope practical AI use cases with BAI teams as business needs and tools evolve. Lead prioritized pilots with clear hypotheses, success measures and evaluation criteria.
  • Assess output quality, workflow benefit and usability, and recommend whether to refine, expand or stop. Coordinate implementation of improvements with technical partners.
Product and program delivery
  • Translate business and research requirements into functional specifications, acceptance criteria and test scenarios. Work with platform owners on data access, prompts, retrieval and integrations, and coordinate user testing before releases.
  • Manage plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and issue logs across assigned workstreams. Coordinate AIN, ACCP and vendor deliverables, monitor agreed scope and service expectations, and raise resource or delivery constraints.
  • Provide concise stakeholder updates and recommendations on progress, quality, adoption and unresolved decisions. Maintain documentation, knowledge transfer and handovers so enhancements and support remain sustainable.
  • Ensure assigned solutions and supporting workflows follow applicable research, data privacy, security and AI governance standards.
Adoption and change management
  • Lead onboarding, training and communications for assigned solutions across BAI, GCCI and Marketing and Sales stakeholders. Assess readiness, address workflow barriers and support responsible use.
  • Build user feedback loops and practical guidance that strengthen research and analytical judgment. Work with functional leaders and champions to embed new capabilities into existing routines.
  • Track adoption, engagement, cycle time, output quality and stakeholder experience against agreed success measures. Use results and user feedback to prioritize improvements and demonstrate value.
