Job summary

Danone North America is seeking a senior leader for the 3PM (3rd Party Manufacturing) team to drive cost, quality, and delivery improvements with Co-Man suppliers. You will work closely with Procurement Sourcing Managers and Quality Managers to identify, create and execute CI projects and supplier initiatives.

The role leads CI programs, mentors direct reports, and collaborates across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure robust product availability and scalable supplier

Qualifications

• BS in Science/Food Science/Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience, preferably in CPG beverage/food supply chain.
• Experience in commercialization/ launches of new products.
• Experience leading, managing and developing direct reports.
• Experience working in corporate and factory level Continuous Improvement organization.
• Manufacturing Leadership experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
• Experience with manufacturing in an FDA environment; preferred food and/or liquid processing manufacturing; high speed dairy and aseptic processing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and facilitate sharing of global best practices and BKM sharing.
• Establish internal and external benchmark data while supporting Zero Defects/CI lead execution of performance improvements with key Contract Manufacturers.
• Partner with Procurement, Engineering and Quality teams to monitor supplier Kaizen plans and cost reductions.
• Promote Statistical Process Controls and CI techniques at suppliers to reduce variability.
• Engage with internal and external partners to identify quality issues and pursue solutions.
• Identify improvement projects and manage cross-functional implementation to boost supplier performance.
• Support evaluations of new supplier technologies for New Product introductions and cost improvements.
• Assist in onboarding new strategic CoPackers as requested by Strategic Procurement.
• Provide feedback to sourcing on supplier performance and improvement plans; align with category strategies.
• Lead supplier-facing programs such as Supplier Cost Reduction, Zero Waste and New Product Development as appropriate.

As part of the North American 3PM (3rd Party Manufacturing) team, the leader works closely with the Procurement Sourcing Managers and Quality Managers to identify, create and execute strategies and projects with Co-Man Suppliers to deliver significant cost, quality and delivery performance improvements.

The role participates in various commercial and quality system assessments of key Contract Manufacturers, with a particular focus on identification and quantification of opportunities for joint improvement activities.

The role works with business units and Co-Man Sites on the execution of agreed CI programs and helps influence business units around resource allocation and project deliverables.

• Participate in and facilitate sharing of global best practices & best-known method (BKM) sharing and collaborating globally as needed/warranted
• Establish internal and external benchmark data while supporting Zero Defects/Continuous Improvement Lead execution of performance improvement efforts with Key Contract Manufacturing suppliers (quality, yield, Lean, service) in all areas
• Partner with Procurement, Engineering and Quality teams to implement and monitor supplier Kaizen plans including process improvements, quality systems improvements and VA/VE related cost reductions
• Promoting the use of Statistical Process Controls and continuous improvement techniques at suppliers to help reduce variability and achieve process control
• Interfacing with internal & external partners to identify quality and processing issues and collaboratively pursue solutions
• Identifying improvement projects and managing cross-functional implementation to improve performance of key components and suppliers
• As required, working with Research & Innovation sourcing managers to support evaluations of new supplier technologies and capabilities to support New Product introductions and /or Cost Improvement projects
• Engage with and assist in onboarding new strategic CoPackers as requested by Strategic Procurement team
• Providing regular feedback to sourcing on supplier performance and improvement plans; to be utilized as foundational elements in category strategies that drive supplier selection and preferred status
• Leading Supplier facing efforts/programs such as Supplier Cost Reduction, Zero Waste and New Product Development as appropriate
• Lead technical qualification and capability assessment of co-manufacturers to ensure quality and scalability
• Ensure robust product availability, proactively managing supply risks and constraints
• Understands category strategies and supplier messaging through close alignment with Contract Manufacturing Sourcing & Category Management
• Engage and assist in onboarding new strategic Co Mans as requested by Procurement Team.
• Provide regular feedback to Sourcing on supplier performance and improvement plans, understand category strategies and supplier messaging.

The salary range for this position is $116,000-167,000 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. This role is considered a “hybrid” position that allows for flexible work, meaning it is a role where collaboration with key stakeholders in Danone Hubs occurs. While you may have the option to work from home on a schedule as agreed to with your supervisor, you are also expected to regularly report to your assigned office location at least 3 days per week.
