Job summary

Hightower Advisors in Chicago seeks a Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering to lead strategy, architecture, and operations of our cloud platforms. You will enable a secure, scalable, and resilient cloud ecosystem that supports enterprise apps, advisor-facing platforms, and business operations.

You will partner with Infrastructure, Security, Application Development, Data, and Business teams to drive cloud transformation, modernize infrastructure, and enforce best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Deep expertise with AWS.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or similar IaC tools.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong cloud security, governance, and identity management expertise.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, primarily within AWS.
• Define and execute cloud strategy, roadmaps, and architectural standards.
• Manage and mentor cloud engineers while fostering a culture of innovation.

Your Future Team

The Technology organization at Hightower plays a critical role in enabling growth, innovation, and operational excellence across the firm. As Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering, you will lead the strategy, architecture, and operational management of Hightower's cloud platforms and services. This role is responsible for building and advancing a secure, scalable, and resilient cloud ecosystem that supports enterprise applications, advisor-facing platforms, and business operations. You will partner closely with Infrastructure, Security, Application Development, Data, and Business teams to drive cloud transformation initiatives, modernize infrastructure, and establish best practices across the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Define and execute cloud strategy, roadmaps, and architectural standards.
• Manage and mentor cloud engineers while fostering a culture of innovation.

• Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experience.
