Job summary

AbbVie in Illinois is seeking a senior Data Management professional to lead clinical data systems, oversee IRT/RTSM workflows, and drive process improvements across therapeutic areas. You will manage cross-functional teams, mentor staff, and shape vendor governance with a focus on robust data solutions.

The role requires 8+ years in clinical data environments, strong SAS/SQL skills, and deep CDASH/SDTM knowledge. A collaborative, results-driven leader will thrive in AbbVie's Data Science team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with clinical database design, data loading, and modeling concepts.
• Demonstrated SAS and/or SQL programming skills and knowledge of database concepts.
• In-depth knowledge of CDASH and SDTM standards and clinical trial processes.
• Ability to influence others without direct authority; proven collaboration in a matrix environment.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple therapeutic areas.
• Evaluate and implement technology for performance improvement and cost reduction.
• Create and sustain an environment that attracts, develops, and retains talent.
• Practice continuous improvement of processes and technology usage.
• Act as subject matter expert and process owner.
• Supervise and allocate internal and external resources within the Therapeutic Area.
• Ensure performance assessments, training, and retention for staff objectives.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and provide strategic direction to staff.
