Job summary

Reynolds American is seeking a Senior Manager Category Leadership in Winston-Salem to build and embed core Category Management capabilities across the commercial organization. You will help translate portfolio strategies and shopper insights into repeatable category frameworks and internal decision tools, partnering with Strategic Accounts, Field Sales, Marketing Intelligence, and Finance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Shopper Insights, Commercial Strategy or Planning, or Commercial Analytics.
  • Experience developing category performance routines, internal capability tools, planning inputs, playbooks, training materials, or commercial sales support materials.
  • Strong understanding of CPG commercial growth levers including assortment, space, pricing, promotions, retail activation and shopper behavior.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to convert complex information into concise recommendations and decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills across Strategic Accounts, Field Sales, Marketing, Finance, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to lead workstreams, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs in a matrixed environment.
  • Advanced skills in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Economics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Strategic Accounts and Field Sales to strengthen internal capability, improve planning inputs, and ensure category strategies are commercially practical and actionable.
  • Support Category Management pilots by helping develop the business case, analytical approach, recommendation logic, and internal readiness materials before any customer discussion.
  • Develop practical internal capabilities for assortment, space, pricing, retail investment, activation, and innovation fit using clear category logic and evidence-based methods.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs from Brand Marketing, Marketing Intelligence, Marketing Activation, Trade Marketing Development, Shopper Insights and Finance to improve recommendation quality.
  • Monitor category and retailer performance to identify issues, opportunities, and capability gaps that improve internal planning routines and category outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement of Category Management playbooks, training resources, analytical routines, cross-functional ways of working, and field sales data and analytics technology platforms.

REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager Category Leadership in Winston-Salem

The Senior Manager of Category Leadership is responsible for building and embedding core Category Management capabilities, principles, tools, and ways of working across the commercial organization. This role strengthens the organization’s ability to develop fact-based category strategies, assortment logic, performance routines, and planning inputs that support stronger internal decision-making and future retailer engagement through Strategic Accounts.

This role partners closely with Strategic Accounts, Field Sales, Marketing Intelligence, Marketing Activation, Trade Marketing Development, Trade Finance, and IDT to develop scalable Category Management capabilities, analytical frameworks, training materials, pilot support, and commercial tools that enable consistent application of category thinking across teams.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
