Job summary

University of Central Florida in Orlando invites applications for the Senior Manager, Athletics Village Facilities, to lead maintenance, housekeeping, and operations for athletic, housing, and event facilities. Responsibilities

  • Lead the operation, maintenance, and housekeeping services for Athletics Village facilities.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, priorities, and service plans for efficient facility operations.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, scheduled maintenance activities, and housekeeping to maintain safety, quality, and appearance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop supervisors and staff, including workforce planning, performance management, training, scheduling, and engagement.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, equipment, and supplies while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor operational performance through KPIs, work order trends, customer feedback, and quality assessments.
  • Coordinate with Athletics, Housing & Residence Life, the Convocation Corporation, and campus stakeholders on facilities services and projects.
  • Provide operational leadership for major university events (football game days, arena events, commencements, move-ins, transitions).
  • Collaborate with Facilities Operations on maintenance, renovations, capital projects, and construction.
  • Establish and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for safety, workmanship, productivity, and customer service.
  • Coordinate contractor, vendor, and campus partner activities to support facility operations and project outcomes.
  • Serve as a key contact for facility communications, issue resolution, and emergency response for Athletics Village.

The Opportunity

Join UCF Facilities as the Senior Manager, Athletics Village Facilities, where you will provide leadership for the maintenance, housekeeping, and operational support of athletic, housing, and event facilities. Reporting to the Director of University Operations, Housekeeping and High Performance Work Team, this role provides operational leadership, stakeholder consultation, and event support while ensuring high-quality maintenance, housekeeping, and facility services that enhance the campus experience for students, staff, visitors, and event attendees.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the operation, maintenance, and housekeeping services for a diverse portfolio of athletic, housing, event, and retail facilities within the Athletics Village.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, priorities, and service plans to ensure efficient facility operations and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, scheduled maintenance activities, and housekeeping services to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and appearance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop supervisors and staff, including workforce planning, performance management, training, scheduling, and employee engagement.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, equipment, and supplies while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs.
  • Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), work order trends, customer feedback, and quality assessments to drive service excellence.
  • Partner with Athletics, Housing & Residence Life, the Convocation Corporation, and other campus stakeholders to coordinate facility services, projects, and operational needs.
  • Provide operational leadership and support for major university events, including football game days, arena events, graduation commencements, housing move-in activities, and semester transitions.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Operations teams on maintenance repairs, renovations, capital projects, and construction initiatives, including project planning, inspections, and warranty coordination.
  • Establish and enforce operational standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with university expectations for safety, workmanship, productivity, and customer service.
  • Coordinate contractor, vendor, and campus partner activities to support facility operations and ensure successful project and event outcomes.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for facility-related communications, issue resolution, and emergency response activities affecting Athletics Village operations.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing facilities operations, maintenance, and housekeeping services across multiple facility types and locations, including athletic, housing, event, or commercial facilities.
  • Experience leading and developing managers, supervisors, and frontline staff, including performance management, workforce planning, employee engagement, and team development.
  • Experience overseeing facilities operations for large-scale events, athletic venues, arenas, student housing, or similarly complex environments requiring coordination of multiple stakeholders and operational priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage operational budgets, allocate resources, analyze expenditures, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, work order management systems, building systems, and facilities performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and business partners to support facility operations, capital projects, and customer service initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), or a related facilities management credential.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $89,076 - $95,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
