Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a Senior Manager of Application Development to lead enterprise-scale application design and delivery. The role blends hands-on architecture with technical leadership, guiding a team of engineers while collaborating with product, architecture, and business stakeholders.

You will drive cloud-native solutions on AWS, API-first patterns, microservices, and AI-assisted workflows within a large enterprise setting.

Formación

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering/application development experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership and/or engineering management experience.
• Strong hands-on architecture and solution design experience.
• Strong development background with Java and Spring Boot.
• Extensive experience with REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
• Strong experience designing and implementing cloud solutions on AWS.
• Experience with event-driven and distributed application architectures.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to lead complex technical programs from architecture/design through execution.
• Experience leading distributed engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery and modern software engineering practices.
• Exposure to AI-assisted software development, AI agents, or intelligent workflow automation.

• Champion Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD, quality engineering, and observability best practices.

Senior Manager, Application Development

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Application Development to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based solutions for a large enterprise organization.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role, approximately 70% technical / 30% management, ideal for someone who can operate as both a solution architect/technical lead and an engineering manager. You'll provide technical direction, own solution design and architecture, drive projects through execution, and lead a team of engineers.

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise applications and modernization initiatives.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership across Java, APIs, microservices, AWS, and AI-enabled solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience within a highly regulated enterprise environment.
• Experience with healthcare-related technology or platforms is a plus.
• Experience with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Amazon Q, or similar technologies.
