United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Manager of AML Investigations to lead a team of FIU investigators overseeing cryptocurrency and digital-asset activity. You will drive complex on-chain investigations, provide training, and shape monitoring programs.

You will collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering to strengthen our anti-money-laundering controls across fiat and digital currencies, ensuring rigorous risk assessments and timely SAR filings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of FIU Investigators evaluating AML and Fraud alerts/cases involving cryptocurrency and digital assets, determining risk and SAR filing.
  • Provide oversight for complex digital-asset investigations, including on-chain flows and wallet activity.
  • Conduct and oversee unsupported token reviews.
  • Coach and develop FIU Investigators to improve quality, consistency, and productivity.
  • Design and enhance the company’s digital-asset transaction monitoring and wallet-screening programs, including procedures and training.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving AML/Fraud typologies in retail banking, brokerage, and digital assets.
  • Identify emerging digital-asset risks and translate findings into monitoring and control enhancements.
  • Collaborate with AML, Sanctions, Fraud, Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering on investigations and new capabilities.
  • Provide recommendations to Senior Management to strengthen crypto-AML capabilities.

Reporting to the Head of AML Investigations, the Senior Manager will assist with the design and execution of the company’s transaction monitoring and wallet screening programs involving fiat currency, cryptocurrency and stablecoins. Responsibilities include establishing procedures, training materials, and furthering strategic initiatives related to digital assets as needed. Overseeing risk-related decisions to terminate customers.

Additionally, this leader will oversee a team of FIU Investigators conducting independent suspicious activity investigations and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports related to both fiat and digital currencies. This requires that the Senior Manager conduct regular one-on-one, deliver coaching, and perform holistic quality reviews of investigative work products to ensure rigorous analysis and thorough dispositions (quality control).

What you’ll do:
  • Manage a team of FIU Investigators responsible for evaluating AML and Fraud alerts and cases involving cryptocurrency, stablecoins, and other digital assets, determining whether activity presents financial-crime risk and whether escalation or SAR filing is warranted.
  • Provide oversight and subject-matter expertise for complex digital-asset investigations, including on-chain transaction flows, wallet activity, self-hosted wallets, exchanges, bridges, DEXs, lending protocols, and other DeFi activity.
  • Conduct and oversee unsupported token reviews.
  • Coach and develop FIU Investigators to drive investigative quality, consistency, and productivity, while identifying training needs, performance gaps, and process-improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with the design and ongoing enhancement of the company’s digital-asset transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, and wallet-screening programs, including development of investigative procedures and training.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of emerging AML and Fraud typologies across retail banking, brokerage, and digital assets, including scams, stolen funds, ransomware, mixers, sanctions exposure, cross-chain activity, and DeFi-related risks.
  • Identify emerging digital-asset risks and investigative trends and translate findings into enhancements to monitoring, controls, procedures, and investigator training.
  • Partner with AML, Sanctions, Fraud, Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering on complex investigations, emerging risks, new digital-asset capabilities, and enhancements to the financial-crimes control environment.
  • Provide recommendations to Senior Management and lead strategic initiatives to strengthen the company’s AML investigative capabilities across cryptocurrency, stablecoins, DeFi, and other emerging digital-asset products and services.
What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 6+ years of experience in AML and Fraud Compliance Investigations, with a minimum of 2 years of direct management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in cryptocurrency-related AML transaction monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across different business lines.
  • Ability to successfully lead and manage a team of AML investigators, including providing training/oversight, quality control and mentoring
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills that build solid working relationships within the organization.
  • Excellent working knowledge of BSA/AML laws and regulations relative to money laundering and terrorist financing, especially with regard to virtual assets, and the ability to apply this knowledge in assessing transactional activity.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with a focus on quality reviews.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt well to changing priorities, and effectively prioritize responsibilities to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and changing environment; must work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently while managing projects and assignments.
Specific Skills in:
  • AML transaction monitoring, specifically with regard to cryptocurrency typologies (e.g., mixers, P2P exchanges, decentralized exchanges, Fraud using Cryptoasset ATMs) and transaction tracing
  • Conducting transaction monitoring investigations using blockchain analytics tools
  • OFAC/sanctions monitoring, reporting & blocking
