Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Manager Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide AI architecture covering Knowledge, Trust and Control/Harness blocks. The role spans Foundation Model management, Safety, Agentic design, and NLP/SLM system integration, balancing hands-on delivery with cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise architecture, governance, or compliance technology.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of AI Foundation Model frameworks and major platforms.
• Experience with observability, safety and governance tooling.
• Familiar with Agentic AI platforms (Nvidia, MSFT, Crew)
• Proven track record in building and delivering large-scale enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AI agentic systems design and implementation across foundation models, LLMs, and SLMs.
• Integrate external vendor tools for model monitoring, security, and compliance.
• Collaborate with EY teams to align AI initiatives.
• Serve as player-coach, contributing to technical delivery while coordinating firmwide AI adoption.
• Be an expert across Knowledge, Trust, and Control/Harness AI systems and their applications to customer opportunities.
• Member of Enterprise Architecture council guiding initiatives to success.
• Maintain knowledge of AI trends, model architectures, trust frameworks, and control/harness patterns.

The opportunity

We’re seeking a strategic and technically adept Senior Manager Architect to lead the design and implementation of AI architecture spanning Knowledge, Trust, and Control/Harness Blocks across the enterprise. The scope of this role is across Foundation Model management, Safety, Agentic design, AI application integration, and future directions for NLP and VLM systems. This role is ideal for someone who can balance hands‑on delivery with cross-functional coordination, ensuring enterprise AI adoption through robust compliance, monitoring, integration, and control practices.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and implementation of AI agentic systems and frameworks based on foundation models, LLM, and SLM.
• Integrate external vendor tools for model monitoring, security, and compliance.
• Collaborate with EY teams to align AI initiatives.
• Serve as a player‑coach, contributing to technical delivery while coordinating firmwide AI adoption.
• Be a true expert across Knowledge, Trust, and Control/Harness AI systems and their applications to customer opportunities and internal horizontal platform development.
• Member of the Enterprise Architecture council guiding initiatives to success.
• Maintain current knowledge of AI trends, model architectures, trust frameworks, and control/harness patterns for the timely adoption of emerging AI technology.

To qualify you must have

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, governance, or compliance technology.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
• Knowledge of AI Foundation Model frameworks, Llama, Gemini, Claude, OpenAI, Mistral, Deepseek etc.
• Experience with observability, safety and governance tooling.
• Familiar with Agentic AI platforms (Nvidia, MSFT, Crew)
• Proven track record in building and delivering large‑scale enterprise platforms.

Ideally, you'll also have

• Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics
• Familiarity with AI/ML lifecycle management and responsible AI practices.
• Experience integrating governance tools into hybrid cloud environments.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across teams.

• We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:
• New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices – $172,800 to $359,000
• Bay Area California offices – $180,000 to $374,000
• All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento – $144,000 to $329,100
• Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
• Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
