Atlassian is seeking a senior software engineering leader to guide the Agentic AI Integrations team in Seattle. You will drive foundational components for multi-agent systems and shape AI interoperability across Atlassian products.

Be the backbone of Atlassian's Agentic AI Integration Products

The Agentic AI Integrations team is responsible for the industry-leading Rovo MCP Server, Agent to Agent integrations as well as on the mission to catapult Atlassian value by leveraging cutting‑edge AI capabilities like Claude Skills, ChatGPT/Claude Apps etc., essentially we will be working on anything and everything with AI integrations into the Atlassian ecosystem.

Passionate to explore and learn AI transformative technologies and quickly pivot from prototyping new initiatives to building highly‑scalable enterprise‑grade AI products that will be used by 1000s of developers and enterprise users.

• AI Expertise: Hands‑on experience with AI/ML platform engineering, model serving, or agent frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel, etc.).


• Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Go.


• Systems Thinking: Experience with high‑scale distributed systems, vector databases, and observability pipelines.

Pay Ranges

Role

In The United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A

$209,700 - $273,775

Zone B

$188,730 - $246,398

Zone C

$174,051 - $227,233

Qualifications

• You have stellar people management skills and experience leading an agile software team


• You thrive when developing phenomenal people, not just great products


• You have worked closely with Data Science, Analytics, and Platform teams


• You bring expertise in building and maintaining high‑quality system components and services


• You are able to drive technical excellence, pushing for innovation and quality


• You have at least 8-10 years of experience in a software development role as an individual contributor


• You have 4+ years of people management experience


• Hands‑on experience in AI or ML platform engineering, including model serving, MCP, A2A, or workflow orchestration.


• Strong understanding of emerging agent frameworks, context protocols (MCP, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, etc.), and LLM‑based system design.


• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, or Go.


• Proven track record of leading cross‑functional engineering initiatives and mentoring technical teams.


• Operating a highly reliable (4 9s SLA), cost optimize, low‑latency and high‑throughput Cloud service.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with MCP architecture, A2A specification, and agent collaboration frameworks (e.g., MCP servers, UI clients, and adapters).


• Experience with observability, vector databases, and secure model‑to‑model communication.


• Background in enterprise integration patterns, API governance, or developer experience platforms.


• Contributions to open‑source AI frameworks or standards development initiatives.
