Job summary

Stout Risius Ross, LLC in Atlanta seeks an experienced accounting advisory leader to execute and oversee accounting & reporting engagements, with emphasis on research and client deliverables.

You will work with diverse clients from early stage to large public companies, handle reconciliations, complex contracts, and financial statements, while applying US GAAP and post‑acquisition integration expertise. This role offers growth and a strong rewards program.

Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of US GAAP including purchase accounting and revenue recognition.
  • Experience interpreting complex accounting standards and documenting practical terms.
  • Deep experience with M&A transactions, especially post-acquisition integration.
  • CPA preferred; experience presenting to C-suite and executives.
  • Entrepreneurial and client-service oriented; strong communication.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com, Expensify.

Responsibilities

Impact You’ll Make
  • Execute and lead Accounting & Reporting Advisory engagements with primary responsibility for research and preparation of client deliverables
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and support communication with client, identifying issues, resolving discrepancies, and escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Review and analyze complex contracts, conducting and supporting technical accounting research and documenting conclusions in accordance with applicable guidance.
  • Prepare and contribute to the review of accounting memoranda and policies, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with accounting standards.
What You’ll Do
  • Partner with clients ranging from early stage to large publicly traded organizations in an industry agnostic environment
  • Prepare and review of account reconciliations and communication with client vendors
  • Review of complex contracts and the related technical accounting research
  • Preparation of accounting memoranda and policies
  • Determine appropriate journal entries and other operational accounting matters
  • Preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures
  • Research on SEC filing requirements, and preparation of supporting accounting schedules and other audit support
  • Serve as post‑acquisition integration SME including demonstrating familiarity with standard IMO practices and procedures
  • Serve as a technical accounting subject‑matter expert for the firm’s valuation practice, providing ad hoc research and support
  • Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations for clients including management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, processing and posting payroll, preparing and posting journal entries
  • Actively involved in business development including client pursuits and proposals
  • Identify areas to scale efficiencies and new ways of working across multiple projects and environments
  • Interact with finance‑focused ERPs, e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle
  • Leverage AI‑enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance research, streamline deliverable preparation, and improve overall efficiency and insight.
What You Bring
  • Broad knowledge of US GAAP, which may include: purchase accounting, derivatives, complex debt and equity securities, stock‑based compensation, revenue recognition, and lease accounting
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Experience interpreting complex accounting standards/treatment and documenting into practical terms
  • Deep experience with M&A transactions, particularly with post‑acquisition integration
  • AICPA and PCAOB‑level audit readiness preferred
  • Experience presenting to the c‑suite and executive tier
  • Entrepreneurial and client‑service focused
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with accounting systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com, and Expensify
  • Familiarity with or interest in using AI tools and technology to enhance productivity, research, and analysis.

Education and/or Training
  • Bachelor of Finance or Accounting
  • 8+ years of finance process and / or transformation experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in industries such as but not limited to: manufacturing, CPG, healthcare, and financial services
  • Combination of audit and advisory experience
  • Post‑acquisition transaction experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
