Job description

The US Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Transformation, Delivery, and Insights team drives innovation in AML through advanced analytics, technology, and strategic transformation. As a senior leader on this team, you'll lead the delivery of accurate, timely, and well-governed AML reporting and risk assessment data that supports executive decision-making, regulatory expectations, and audit readiness. You'll partner closely with AML Advisory, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), Technology, and other Transformation, Delivery, and Insights partners to strengthen data quality, reporting controls, and governance practices. You'll oversee the end-to-end reporting data lifecycle, from requirements intake and data sourcing to calculation logic, quality assurance, reconciliations, refresh management, distribution, and retention. You'll also lead the design and delivery of dashboards, scorecards, and visual analytics in SAS Viya, turning complex data into clear, actionable insights. In addition, you'll guide analysts and matrixed resources, drive continuous improvement across reporting pipelines and controls, and help shape the future state of AML reporting across the bank.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed
  • Lead AML reporting delivery - Own the end-to-end AML reporting and risk assessment data lifecycle, including requirements intake, data sourcing, data definitions, calculation logic, quality assurance and quality control, reconciliations, refresh management, distribution, and retention for management, board, and regulatory deliverables.
  • Strengthen data governance - Establish and maintain strong governance and documentation practices, including data definitions, dictionaries, lineage, controls, evidence, and project documentation aligned with enterprise guidance and internal policies.
  • Deliver decision-ready insights - Lead the design and delivery of dashboards, scorecards, and ad hoc visual analytics in SAS Viya, using a design-focused approach to create clear, compelling, and executive-ready reporting.
  • Drive data quality and control effectiveness - Establish monitoring for completeness, validity, timeliness, reconciliation, and reasonableness trending, while coordinating escalations, root-cause analysis, and remediation activities.
  • Build reliable reporting products - Lead the development and ongoing management of backend reporting pipelines and analytical data models as governed products, including user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans, lifecycle documentation, change tracking, and production updates.
  • Develop talent and influence partners - Set priorities, coach analysts and matrixed resources, and translate complex technical information into clear narratives and materials for senior stakeholders, auditors, and regulators.
Who you are
  • You have deep AML reporting expertise. You bring 7+ years of progressive experience in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and AML reporting, analytics, data governance, or related financial crimes functions, including significant experience leading complex reporting deliverables for management, board, regulatory, audit, and risk assessment purposes.
  • You are a caring and accountable leader. You have 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading analysts or analytics professionals, setting priorities, coaching performance, and delivering high-quality work across competing timelines.
  • You can demonstrate experience in advanced SQL, AML reporting lifecycle management, and SAS Viya or SAS AML tools, including SAS Enterprise Guide (EG), Studio, Visualize, Explore, and Cloud Analytic Services (CAS). It's an asset if you have experience developing interactive dashboards, analytical data models, and governed reporting products across multiple environments.
  • You know that details matter. You have practical knowledge of AML data governance, including data dictionaries, key performance indicator (KPI) definitions, lineage, controls, data quality monitoring, and retention, and you can explain complex logic and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You act like an owner. You bring sound judgment to ambiguous requests, evaluate trade-offs thoughtfully, influence stakeholders effectively, and implement practical, sustainable solutions using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile practices.
  • You have a degree/diploma in Information Science, Business Analytics, Data Visualization, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is required. A degree in a creative field combined with a strong technical portfolio will also be considered.
  • You're a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing in Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or an equivalent AML certification. It's an asset if you hold certifications in data, analytics, or business intelligence tools such as SAS, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or SQL Server.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
