Minimum – Three years or greater of significant experience managing contracts and/or auditing contracts with a private and/or government entity during the preceding five years. Significant experience means contracting responsibilities were 50% or more of the total job duties.
A four-year degree in accounting and/or business from an accredited institution of higher learning. Extensive work experience as a contract manager or contract auditor may substitute for the four-year degree at the discretion of the IG.
Contract managing experience, if applicable, must include extensive involvement in the contract management process, including a sound understanding of contracting policies and requirements, financial analysis of documentation and records maintained and provided by a contracting entity, thorough assessment of compliance with contract terms and deliverables, and on-site reviews/visits, among others.
Contract auditing experience, if applicable, must include planning, conducting, and reporting on audits that assess compliance with applicable regulations and/or contract terms, financial analysis of documentation and records maintained and provided by a contracting entity, and assessment of controls related to the services and deliverables provided by a contracting entity, among others.
Applicants must have good writing skills, verbal communication, listening skills, logical and critical thinking, and analytical skills.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
An active Florida Certified Contract Manager certification and maintain the certification, in good standing, during the duration of employment in this position.
Incumbent must obtain, at a minimum, the necessary continuing professional trainings required to maintain the Florida Certified Contract Manager certification, along with all continuing education hours required of the Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspectors General and any other certifications held by the incumbent and any profession-specific standards utilized during a project/engagement.
It is preferred, but not required, that candidates have an active certification from at least one of the following organizations: Florida Board of Accountancy, Institute of Internal Auditors, Association of Inspectors General, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, or Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
