Job summary

National Immigration Law Center (NILC) is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Major Gifts to manage a portfolio of NILC and IJF donors. The role focuses on strategy, donor cultivation, and stewardship, reporting to the Director of Fundraising Campaigns. The position is term-limited to 2 years with renewal possible and requires strong fundraising experience.

Location is Washington, DC, with up to 25% travel. The role is within NILC’s bargaining unit and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

7-10+ years in nonprofit fundraising with progressive responsibility and a record of securing visits with prospective donors.
At least two years in nonprofit fundraising, including visits, solicitation, closing, and stewardship of mid and major gifts.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills.
Strong organizational skills with ability to develop long-term plans and track progress.
Experience with at least one advanced CRM.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute a major giving donor program, including short- and long-term strategies.
Develop messaging for major giving communications and coordinate with partners.
Manage a portfolio of 80-120 major donors with cultivation, stewardship and solicitation.
Record interactions and post-meeting reports in the database and share with the team.
Meet portfolio goals with donor meetings and monthly personalized contacts.
Coordinate donor cultivation events, both virtual and in-person.
