Job summary

Indiana University is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Officer to manage a donor portfolio and secure philanthropic investments for the School of Medicine. The role emphasizes relationship building, donor engagement, and strategic solicitation across geographic territories, including travel.

You will work with alumni, grateful patients, and prospective donors to move from initial engagement to solicitation and stewardship, aligning campaigns with institutional priorities and annual giving

Responsibilities

• Plans and participates in solicitation efforts for major, planned, and/or principal gifts from alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and other constituents and supporters of the university.
• Regularly solicits and closes gifts of various sizes with the goal of increasing gifts of $250,000.00 - $1,000,000.00.
• Sets annual funds targets, contacts, and timelines by campaign for self; tracks progress toward goals.
• Creates and distributes fundraising materials; tracks cost and ROI.
• Researches, compiles, and provides metrics and information to donors.
• Provides an excellent donor experience through customer service and persuasive discussion.
• Regularly undertakes complex special projects and volunteer leadership opportunities.
