Job summary

Cortland North Brookhaven in Brookhaven, GA seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to lead the community’s maintenance team. You will diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance systems, mentor junior technicians, and support the Service Manager to keep the property safe and well‑maintained.

You will participate in preventative maintenance, manage inventory, and respond to emergencies while delivering high‑quality resident service and documenting issues for follow‑up.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Universal EPA certification is required; CPO is preferred.
• 3–5+ years in maintenance, facilities, or multi‑family housing.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support service technicians and assist in leading maintenance operations.
• Act as acting lead in the Service Manager’s absence.
• Diagnose and repair advanced issues in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and building systems.
• Address unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective action by the team.
• Monitor and report on building and security systems, including doors and cameras.
• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance on HVAC and equipment.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to emergencies.

Role Overview

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you serve as a technical leader within the community’s maintenance team. You provide advanced troubleshooting and repair skills, mentor junior technicians, support the Service Manager, and help ensure the property remains safe, functional, and well‑maintained. In this role, you take ownership of complex maintenance issues, guide preventative maintenance programs, and play a key role in delivering high‑quality service to residents.

Qualifications

• Advanced skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, and general building systems.
• Ability to mentor staff and support daily departmental leadership.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer ‑ service abilities.
• Ability to safely use tools, lift heavy items, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
• Willingness toparticipatein on ‑ call and emergency response schedules.
