Job summary

Bozzuto is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for our Washington, DC area properties. This on-site role focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to service requests to protect our residential assets.

Ideal candidates bring 2–5 years of housing maintenance experience, strong customer service, and HVAC/EPA credentials. Weekend/evening availability and on-call coverage are required for this position.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in residential property management.
• EPA Certification strongly preferred.
• Strong focus on customer service and safety.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead role in troubleshooting and adjusting control systems and ensuring daily function of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, irrigation and security systems.
• Maintain property assets with advanced maintenance skills as directed by Management.
• Respond quickly to deficiencies found in preventative maintenance inspections.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians to complete the Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Deliver excellent customer service and respond to maintenance requests within 24 hours.
• Ensure follow-up with residents, vendors and property management on all services.
• Adhere to building codes, safety standards and housing laws; comply with guidelines.
• Work weekends or evenings and be on call for after-hours emergencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibilities include:

• Take the lead role in troubleshooting, make adjustments to control systems and ensuring the daily functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, irrigation and security systems.
• Maintain the physical asset of the property as directed by Management with a focus on those tasks that will require advance skills and knowledge of apartment maintenance.
• Respond quickly to deficiencies found in preventative maintenance inspections.
• Work closely with Maintenance Technicians to complete the communities Preventative Maintenance Program
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Respond to all maintenance requests within 24 hours
• Ensure effective, professional, and timely follow up with residents, vendors and property management team on all maintenance services provided
• Adhere to and stay current on all applicable building codes, safety standards and fair housing laws and ensure safety standards comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines
• Working weekends or evenings and being on call for after hour emergencies

What You Bring to Us:

• Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician preferably in the Residential Property Management industry
• Team oriented, sociable, assertive, objective, conscientious, tolerant, with a good eye for details; working effectively in both relaxed or more formal workplaces.
• HVAC, EPA Certification strongly preferred
• HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and/or Appliance Repair expertise
