Job summary

Protolabs in Minnesota seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment reliable and efficient. You will diagnose, repair, and install complex manufacturing systems, mentor teammates, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical degree or certification is preferred.
• 4+ years hands-on experience maintaining and repairing complex electrical equipment.
• Strong electrical knowledge and ability to read electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and install complex manufacturing equipment to keep production running.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements.
• Mentor and coach maintenance team members to build skills.
• Investigate equipment failures and implement long-term repair solutions.
• Utilize CMMS to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.

Senior Maintenance Technician!

Shift Monday-Thursday. 6AM to 4PM or Tuesday - Friday 6am-4pm

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping our manufacturing operations running at their best. In this hands-on position, you'll maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install complex production equipment while driving equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor team members, solve challenging technical issues, and make a direct impact on production success in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and install complex manufacturing equipment to keep production running smoothly and efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, component replacements, and equipment optimization.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor, helping develop the skills and capabilities of fellow maintenance team members.
• Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective, long-term repair solutions.
• Utilize the CMMS system to manage work orders, track maintenance activities, and support equipment reliability initiatives.
• Champion a safe, organized, and high-performing work environment focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance, streamline processes, and increase operational uptime.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards while supporting a culture of excellence.

• Advanced technical degree, certification, or 4+ years’ experience
• Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years hands-on experience maintaining and repairing complex electrical and mechanical equipment
• General maintenance experience to include compressed air, mechanical and electrical
• Experience in a production environment related to Injection Molding and CNC Machining is preferred
• Strong electrical knowledge
• Advanced trouble shooting skills on all types equipment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
• High Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to mentor, coach and provide training to less experienced team members

Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
