Position Title: Senior Maintenance Technician

Department: 3350 - Plant Engineering

Classification: NONEX - Non-Exempt

Employee Type: TSN - Team Spec FT Nexe

Direct Report: Assistant Manager, Plant Engineering

Position Summary

The Senior Maintenance Technician will perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, and repair. They will work independently and as a team to maintain the Aquarium and warehouse facilities. This includes the front and back of house areas to ensure great experience for our guests and our coworkers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and labor in the following disciplines: HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical, plumbing, machinery repair, carpentry, and general fabrication.
  • Review and become familiar with the drawings and technical aspects of all systems within the Aquarium and warehouse facilities.
  • Establish and maintain equipment maintenance records as required and generate necessary reports, budget requests and purchase order justifications.
  • Assist in the continuing development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program for all facilities and life support equipment in the Aquarium.
Qualifications
  • Requires a working knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements for the work being performed.
  • Ability to design, fabricate, install, operate, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing and pumping systems using PVC, CPVC, polyethylene, FRP, copper and black iron pipe.
  • Ability to operate, program, troubleshoot, repair, balance and monitor the performance of large, industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Have working knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to disconnect/reconnect pumps, motors, and ballast.
  • Ability to work from discussions, directions, and drawings to conceptualize and construct complete assemblies, systems, displays, or exhibits using multiple skills. Ability to fabricate structures and equipment is required using wood, fiberglass (FRP), glass, acrylic and related materials.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least 4 years of facility maintenance experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
