Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with five years related experience or Master’s degree with three years related experience.
• Hands-on experience building and configuring maintenance plans, task lists, PM orders, and equipment master data in SAP PM or IBM Maximo or equivalent CMMS/ERP.
• Strong understanding of FMEA principles and translating analyses into actionable maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance.
• Excellent technical writing and ability to produce clear, unambiguous work instructions for trades.

Responsibilities

• Convert approved maintenance strategies and FMEA findings into actionable plans within SAP S/4HANA EAM/APM.
• Develop and maintain CMMS asset structures, including functional locations and equipment master data, with proper BOM integration for parts planning.
• Configure and schedule PM programs with proper horizons and cycles; manage deployment and version control across locations.
• Review active maintenance plans for alignment with OEM recommendations and operational learnings; update with feedback from execution.
• Collaborate with Site Planning, Supply Chain, OEMs, and Reliability Engineering to prioritize updates and ensure material availability.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Will Do

Drive the connection between enterprise asset reliability strategy and field-level maintenance by converting approved strategies and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) insights into clear, actionable maintenance plans within ERP and CMMS platforms. This role emphasizes long-term asset value by designing, implementing, and governing standardized work orders, task lists, job plans, and preventive maintenance programs. The objective is to enable consistent, high-quality maintenance execution across the site network, ensuring alignment between real-world asset conditions, technical limitations, and operational priorities with the organization’s asset management goals.

• Convert approved maintenance strategies and FMEA findings into actionable plans within SAP S/4HANA EAM and APM. Develop comprehensive job plans and task lists that address identified failure modes, incorporating inspection standards, labor requirements, tools, materials, OEM guidelines, and safety considerations.
• Develop and maintain accurate CMMS asset structures, including functional locations, equipment master data, and task lists that reflect the physical asset hierarchy. Configure Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs with appropriate scheduling logic, including call horizons and cycle alignment. Ensure accurate BOM integration within work orders to support efficient parts planning, kitting, and procurement, while maintaining high‑quality master data across all asset classes.
• Implement approved maintenance plans from the central repository into site CMMS systems, allowing for controlled site‑level adjustments while maintaining alignment with enterprise standards. Manage deployment tracking, version control, and audit documentation across all locations and equipment groups.
• Review and audit active maintenance plans to ensure alignment with approved strategies, OEM recommendations, and operational learnings. Continuously enhance plan effectiveness by integrating FMEA updates, new equipment data, and feedback from execution, while supporting maintenance readiness during commissioning activities.
• Act as the primary liaison for site planning teams regarding job plan development and CMMS configuration. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure accurate BOMs and material availability, engage OEMs for technical expertise, and partner with Reliability Engineering to prioritize updates following significant equipment failures.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in engineering or related field, OR
• Master’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in engineering or related field.
• Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees
• Ability to plan, prioritize, direct and manage a diverse number of operational areas, projects and activities
• Skilled in preparing, defending, monitoring and administering budgets
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience building and configuring maintenance plans, task lists, PM orders, and equipment master data within SAP PM, IBM Maximo, or a comparable enterprise CMMS/ERP platform
• Solid understanding of FMEA principles and ability to interpret failure mode analysis outputs and translate them into practical, field‑executable maintenance tasks
• Working knowledge of maintenance methodologies including Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM), preventive, predictive, and condition‑based maintenance approaches
• Familiarity with mining maintenance asset classes — mobile equipment (haul trucks, shovels, drills, ancillary fleet) and fixed plant (crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, screens)
• Strong attention to detail and technical writing ability — capable of producing clear, unambiguous step‑by‑step work instructions for a trades audience
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams

• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent reliability certification
• SAP PM Super User certification or Maximo system administration experience
• Experience with document management and version control systems for maintenance standards libraries
• Knowledge of condition monitoring technologies (vibration analysis, oil sampling, thermography) and how CM tasks are structured and triggered in a CMMS environment

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently$97,500-$138,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
