Job summary

Dow is seeking a Senior Maintenance Planner to join our team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. You will lead maintenance planning for the polyethylene group, manage the planning backlog, and guide others in planning best practices.

You will coordinate with local and remote planners, ensure CMMS/SAP inputs are accurate, and drive planning discipline improvements across the site. Strong safety orientation and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent plus Journeyman Certificate, Red Seal OR two year degree (or higher).
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (journeyman, maintenance, manufacturing, project management, etc.).
• Prior maintenance field planning experience.
• Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and use PPE and safety equipment.
• Canada work eligibility; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Create job packages from the work order scope with all labor, materials, and services.
• Use feedback from the worker to optimize plans.
• Review work orders for technical completeness and return to gatekeeper if incomplete.
• Prepare job package and inputs into CMMS (SAP) with required resources.
• Identify tasks and materials/tools/equipment needed to perform tasks.
• Own and manage planning backlog; balance local vs. remote planners by priority and dates.
• Participate in Site Planner network steering team.
• Ensure alignment with Alberta Operations planning discipline.
• Support and lead planning discipline improvements.

About You and this Role

Dow is seeking a Senior Maintenance Planner to join our team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

In this role, you will serve as the maintenance planning lead for the polyethylene planning group. You will be accountable for managing the maintenance planning backlog and function as the focal point for planning needs for other work process roles. You will be responsible for ensuring the Planning Operating Discipline is followed by the group and provide guidance and training to new or less experienced planners.

Responsibilities

• Creating job packages from the work order scope which contains all labor, material, and services to safely execute the work.
• Uses feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans.
• Reviews work orders scopes for technical completeness and returns work orders to gatekeeper, if not complete.
• Prepares job package and inputs plan into CMMS (SAP) including the required resources, materials, and services.
• Identifies task activities necessary to execute job plan and identifies materials/tools/equipment required to perform tasks.
• Owns and manages the planning backlog ensuring proper work distribution between local and remote planners based on priorities and required completion dates.
• Active participant in the Site Planner network steering team.
• Ensures alignment to Alberta Operations site planning discipline.
• Supports and leads planning discipline improvements.

Qualifications

• Must have obtained a high school diploma/equivalent PLUS a Journeyman Certificate, Red Seal Designation, OR two year degree (or higher).
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (i.e. journeyman, maintenance, manufacturing, project management, etc.).
• Prior maintenance field planning experience.
• Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment. Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
• A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
