Job summary

Dow Inc. seeks a Senior Maintenance Planner to lead polyethylene planning efforts in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. You will manage the maintenance planning backlog and serve as the focal point for planning needs across work processes, providing guidance and training to newer planners.

You will create comprehensive job packages, ensure planning discipline, and collaborate with local and remote teams to optimize plant readiness and execution.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma/equivalent plus a Journeyman Certificate, Red Seal, or two year degree or higher.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in maintenance planning or related fields.
• Experience in maintenance field planning and ability to work safely in a plant environment with PPE.
• Canada-based position requires legal work authorization; no sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Create job packages from the work order scope including labor, material, and services.
• Optimize work plans using feedback from the individuals performing the work.
• Review work order scopes for completeness and return incomplete orders to the gatekeeper.
• Prepare job packages and input plans into CMMS (SAP) with required resources and services.
• Identify tasks, materials, tools, and equipment needed to execute plans.
• Own and manage the planning backlog and balance local/remote planner workloads.
• Participate in the Site Planner network steering team and align with site planning discipline.
• Lead planning discipline improvements.

About You and this Role

Dow is seeking a Senior Maintenance Planner to join our team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

In this role, you will serve as the maintenance planning lead for the polyethylene planning group. You will be accountable for managing the maintenance planning backlog and function as the focal point for planning needs for other work process roles. You will be responsible for ensuring the Planning Operating Discipline is followed by the group and provide guidance and training to new or less experienced planners.

Responsibilities

• Creating job packages from the work order scope which contains all labor, material, and services to safely execute the work.
• Uses feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans.
• Reviews work orders scopes for technical completeness and returns work orders to gatekeeper, if not complete.
• Prepares job package and inputs plan into CMMS (SAP) including the required resources, materials, and services.
• Identifies task activities necessary to execute job plan and identifies materials/tools/equipment required to perform tasks.
• Owns and manages the planning backlog ensuring proper work distribution between local and remote planners based on priorities and required completion dates.
• Active participant in the Site Planner network steering team.
• Ensures alignment to Alberta Operations site planning discipline.
• Supports and leads planning discipline improvements.

Qualifications

• Must have obtained a high school diploma/equivalent PLUS a Journeyman Certificate, Red Seal Designation, OR two year degree (or higher).
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (i.e. journeyman, maintenance, manufacturing, project management, etc.).
• Prior maintenance field planning experience.
• Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment. Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
• A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
