Job summary

KingRecruitingServices seeks a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician for a fast-growing food processing plant in Blue Island, IL. This on-site, three-shift role supports a busy plant during a major capacity buildout, where lean, 5S and kaizen ideas are welcomed and acted upon.

You'll diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems, weld, fabricate, service pumps and conveyors, and use SCADA/PLC/VFD equipment to troubleshoot faults.

Qualifications

• Electrical experience with 480V three-phase systems.
• Mechanical troubleshooting in an industrial plant environment.
• MIG and stick welding experience preferred.
• SCADA, PLC, or VFD exposure a plus.
• CMMS experience preferred; OSHA and LOTO knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle mechanical and electrical maintenance across a three-shift food processing plant.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems, including 480V equipment.
• Weld (MIG and stick), fabricate, and rig as jobs call for it.
• Install, align, and service pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, screens, and tanks.
• Use SCADA, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation to track down equipment faults.
• Complete PM work in the CMMS and keep work and parts records accurate.
• Follow and enforce LOTO, confined space, hot work, and OSHA rules.
• Help the maintenance manager plan and prioritize work.
• Be the person any shift can count on when something breaks.

Pay: $40.00 to $65.00/hour based on skills and experience

Overview

A fast-growing food processing operation on the south end of the Chicago area is adding a senior hands-on mechanic to a lean maintenance department that supports a three-shift plant. The site is in the middle of a big capacity buildout, and the culture is entrepreneurial and open to lean, 5S, and kaizen ideas from anyone on the team.

This is a true industrial plant. It gets hot, there are odors, and the work gets dirty. People who do well here take that in stride.

What the Job Involves

• Handle mechanical and electrical maintenance across a three-shift food processing plant

What They Need

• MIG and stick welding preferred
• SCADA, PLC, or VFD exposure a plus
• CMMS experience preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and LOTO required
• Comfortable in a physical environment without air conditioning
