United Future is seeking a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician for our food processing site in Blue Island, IL. This on-site, three-shift role supports a lean maintenance department in a growing plant, with a culture open to lean, 5S, and kaizen ideas.

The job is hands-on in a true industrial plant that gets hot and dirty. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, weld, install pumps and conveyors, use SCADA/PLC/VFD to locate faults, and maintain PMs in CMMS while enforcing

Qualifications

• Electrical experience with 480V three-phase systems.
• Industrial plant maintenance experience in food/chemical environments preferred.
• MIG and stick welding and mechanical troubleshooting skills required.

Responsabilités

• Maintain mechanical and electrical systems across a three-shift food processing plant.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems including 480V equipment.
• Weld (MIG and stick), fabricate, and rig as needed.
• Install, align, and service pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, screens, and tanks.
• Use SCADA, PLC, VFDs, sensors and instrumentation to locate faults.
• Complete PM work in CMMS and keep records accurate.
• Enforce LOTO, confined space, hot work, and OSHA rules.
• Assist maintenance manager with planning and prioritizing work.
• Be the on-call person when something breaks.

Pay: $40.00 to $65.00/hour based on skills and experience

Overview

A fast-growing food processing operation on the south end of the Chicago area is adding a senior hands-on mechanic to a lean maintenance department that supports a three-shift plant. The site is in the middle of a big capacity buildout, and the culture is entrepreneurial and open to lean, 5S, and kaizen ideas from anyone on the team.

This is a true industrial plant. It gets hot, there are odors, and the work gets dirty. People who do well here take that in stride.

What the Job Involves

• Handle mechanical and electrical maintenance across a three-shift food processing plant
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems, including 480V equipment
• Weld (MIG and stick), fabricate, and rig as jobs call for it
• Install, align, and service pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, screens, and tanks
• Use SCADA, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation to track down equipment faults
• Complete PM work in the CMMS and keep work and parts records accurate
• Follow and enforce LOTO, confined space, hot work, and OSHA rules
• Help the maintenance manager plan and prioritize work
• Be the person any shift can count on when something breaks

What They Need

• Electrical experience with 480V three-phase systems required
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience in an industrial plant; food, chemical, or similar process environments preferred
• MIG and stick welding preferred
• SCADA, PLC, or VFD exposure a plus
• CMMS experience preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and LOTO required
• Comfortable in a physical environment without air conditioning
