Job summary

Zaddy Solutions is seeking a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician for its Blue Island, IL, food processing site. This on-site role covers mechanical and electrical maintenance across a three-shift operation, in a hot, dirty environment where lean and kaizen ideas are welcomed.

You will diagnose and repair 480V equipment, weld and fabricate as needed, install pumps, conveyors and motors, and use SCADA/ PLC/ VFD systems to pinpoint faults while maintaining CMMS PMs and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Electrical experience with 480V three-phase systems.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair in an industrial plant environment.
• SCADA, PLC, or VFD exposure is a plus.
• CMMS experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and LOTO.

Responsibilities

• Handle mechanical and electrical maintenance across a three-shift food processing plant.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems (including 480V equipment).
• Weld (MIG and stick), fabricate, and rig as needed.
• Install, align, and service pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, screens, and tanks.
• Use SCADA, PLCs, VFDs, sensors and instrumentation to track faults.
• Complete PM work in the CMMS and keep records accurate.
• Follow LOTO, confined space, hot work, and OSHA rules.

Overview

A fast-growing food processing operation on the south end of the Chicago area is adding a senior hands-on mechanic to a lean maintenance department that supports a three-shift plant. The site is in the middle of a big capacity buildout, and the culture is entrepreneurial and open to lean, 5S, and kaizen ideas from anyone on the team.

This is a true industrial plant. It gets hot, there are odors, and the work gets dirty. People who do well here take that in stride.

What the Job Involves

• Handle mechanical and electrical maintenance across a three-shift food processing plant
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems, including 480V equipment
• Weld (MIG and stick), fabricate, and rig as jobs call for it
• Install, align, and service pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, screens, and tanks

What They Need

• Electrical experience with 480V three-phase systems required
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience in an industrial plant; food, chemical, or similar process environments preferred
• MIG and stick welding preferred
• SCADA, PLC, or VFD exposure a plus
• CMMS experience preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and LOTO required
• Comfortable in a physical environment without air conditioning
