Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to lead site-based maintenance operations and develop the next generation of leaders. You will oversee Maintenance Managers, drive preventative programs, and balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving across an 80+ member team.

You will champion safety, reliability, and continuous improvement while coordinating with operations and managing budgets, vendors, and capital plans. Domestic travel up to 15% is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME FT Exempt experience.
  • Work flexible schedules including weekends, nights and/or holidays.
  • 8+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience.
  • 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • 6+ years of leading multi-layer organizations.
  • 6+ years of senior leadership development and talent management experience.
  • 6+ years of managing department spend, RCA and CI experience.
  • 6+ years of managing and communicating results to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Maintenance Managers and Area Maintenance Managers to foster growth and performance.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs, manage budgets and capital plans.
  • Ensure safety protocols and enforce maintenance execution across operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships, coordinate contractors, and guide equipment end-of-life decisions using ROI.
  • Travel domestically up to 15% to support network-level initiatives across multiple sites.

About The Role

As a Senior Maintenance Manager, you will transform workplace environments by leading site-based maintenance operations and developing the next generation of maintenance leaders. In this critical role, you'll oversee Maintenance Managers and their teams, develop strategic maintenance programs, and drive operational excellence across your site. You will blend strategic planning, financial management, and leadership development while navigating between managing preventative maintenance programs, coordinating with operations teams, and responding to emergencies that require quick, decisive action. You'll balance proactive planning with real-time problem resolution while fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement across your entire organization of 80+ team members.

Key job responsibilities
  • You will provide leadership and mentorship to Maintenance Managers and Area Maintenance Managers, fostering professional growth, performance excellence, and developing bar-raising talent across your maintenance organization
  • You will develop and maintain comprehensive preventative maintenance programs, manage site budgets and capital spending plans, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while maximizing equipment uptime and operational efficiency
  • You will ensure rigorous adherence to safety protocols and procedures across all operational areas while partnering with site leadership to implement, audit, and enforce maintenance execution and safe work practices
  • You will manage vendor relationships, coordinate external contractors, provide technical leadership on equipment end-of-life decisions using ROI analysis, and leverage Amazon's network size to maximize economies of scale
  • You will travel domestically up to 15% of the time to support network-level initiatives and provide guidance across multiple sites
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
  • Work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • 8+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience
  • 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • 6+ years of leading multiple layer organizations experience
  • 6+ years of senior leadership development and talent management experience
  • 6+ years of managing department spend and labor budgets, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing continuous improvement (CI) experience
  • 6+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience leading network level/multi-site maintenance organizations
  • Professional Engineering registration
  • Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) integrators
  • Experience maintaining material handling equipment and integrated systems
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience with statistical analysis

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
