Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to design, enhance, and support healthcare claims applications within the Application Development and Maintenance team. You will collaborate with analysts, QA, PMs, and offshore/onsite engineers to deliver reliable mainframe solutions.

Responsibilities include coding in COBOL/JCL/DB2/CICS/MQ, migrating releases, and providing technical leadership across distributed teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on mainframe development experience.
• Experience with healthcare claims adjudication workflows.
• Knowledge of code migration and release management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication in Agile, onsite and offshore delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications.
• Translate requirements into scalable mainframe solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
• Support testing, deployment, and post-implementation validation.
• Provide technical leadership to offshore team members.
