Job summary

RAPSYS TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a hands-on Senior Mainframe DB2 DBA to lead production support, optimize SQL performance, and manage disaster recovery for our critical systems.

You will work on-site in Salt Lake City, participate in on-call rotations, coordinate with offshore teams, and apply expertise in DB2 for z/OS, JCL, COBOL, CICS and related tools to keep core applications running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IBM DB2 for z/OS administration.
• Expertise in SQL performance tuning, EXPLAIN, access paths, locking & buffer pools.
• DB2 utilities: RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD & UNLOAD.
• Strong JCL, REXX, COBOL, CICS & VSAM knowledge.
• Experience with DB2 table spaces (PBG/PBR), indexes, DDL & schema changes.
• DB2 backup, recovery, disaster recovery & security.
• DB2 Admin Tool, Query Monitor & Real-Time Statistics (RTS).
• Production support, incident management & root cause analysis.
• Experience with database automation, monitoring and performance optimization.
• Strong communication and offshore team coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for DB2 on z/OS environments.
• Perform SQL tuning and ensure efficient access paths and locking strategies.
• Manage disaster recovery planning and execution for critical systems.
• Coordinate incidents and perform root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
