Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated is seeking a Machinist III - CMS to support operational excellence in machining, driving productivity and quality on the production floor. You will lead process improvements, set up and run CNC and manual mills and lathes, and train Level I and II machinists while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong reading of drawings, GD&T, CMM usage, espousing teamwork, problem solving, and effective cross-department communication to meet production

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-8 years’ experience in machining.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Understand shop mathematics (algebra, geometry, trig).
• Advanced measurement skills including GD&T, CMM and optical comparator.
• Proficient in G and M codes and editing CNC programs for complex parts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to train Level I/II machinists.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work and model safe behaviors.
• Follow quality standards for in-process inspection and documentation.
• Read and interpret drawings, routers, and specifications.
• Design and make fixturing for first-run parts for production.
• Set up and run CNC and manual mills, lathes, grinders; deburr parts.
• Monitor and troubleshoot non-conforming parts; suggest CI opportunities.
• Provide direction and assist others with machining practices.
• Train Level I/II machinists and promote teamwork.
• Communicate across departments and make timely decisions.
