Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Machining to lead the machining and design of complex mechanisms for our in-house hypersonic vehicle program. You will collaborate with design engineering and technicians to validate testing plans and drive manufacturing changes toward flight testing and production readiness.

You will own the manufacturing support for a family of mechanisms, develop validation procedures, and help mature designs with a focus on process documentation, DFx,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanisms manufacturing, testing and validation experience.
• Experience with operations/product line management.
• Demonstrated leadership, either direct or indirect.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (NX preferred).
• Experience in selection, procurement, and validation of manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work with design teams to assess manufacturing and testing feasibility.
• Operate as a standalone resource for a family of mechanisms.
• Develop testing and validation procedures for complex mechanisms.
• Generate concept proposals aligned with R&D requirements.
• Down select solutions based on vehicle attributes, cost and weight.
• Defend solutions in engineering reviews.
• Develop process documentation, build instructions, and safety standards.
• Create and communicate production plans and schedules.
• Collaborate with supply chain to qualify suppliers.
• Design and implement production tooling and equipment.
• Participate in design reviews for DFM.
• Mentor peers and train colleagues.
