Job summary

TARGAN Inc. is seeking a Senior Vision Software Engineer to sustain and improve field systems.

The role will partner with stakeholders and the Vision Discipline Lead to monitor production code deployments and develop tools that leverage our codebase to create innovative products. You will bridge R&D and commercial efforts, apply Python and C# to data and software solutions, and work with ML and computer vision techniques to validate data and support new product introductions in biotechnology

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in software development or related field.
  • Proficiency in Python and C# for software development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL Server).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure for container deployment and software versioning.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate commercial data with existing tooling to develop innovative solutions to company assigned project goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build proprietary tools.
  • Drive the development of new products by leveraging commercial data to meet market needs and company objectives.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of data and analyses through rigorous testing and validation processes.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning, vision software and related fields to continuously improve methodologies and approaches.
  • Communicate complex data insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites for troubleshooting ( machines are located in hatchery environments )
  • Experience in a commercial or industrial setting, particularly biotechnology.
  • Experience working with biological data.
  • Experience with computer vision.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and data privacy considerations in handling biological and commercial data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning tools and how to implement them in a software product.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A high degree of integrity, ethics, and judgment.

Job description

This role will be focused on commercial sustainment and improvement for both current and future field systems. The Senior Vision Software Engineer will actively communicate with stakeholders in the field and the Vision Discipline Lead to monitor / improve production code deployments and collaborate with the broader team to develop new tools that leverage our existing codebase and technology to create innovative products. They will serve as a key resource for new product introduction transition from R&D to commercial.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed inside a flex space building consisting of offices, open desk space, laboratory, machine shop, and a manufacturing floor. Level of noise is usually quiet in the office environment and temperature controlled. Noise levels are elevated in the warehouse space where temperatures can vary depending on the outside elements and weather. Occasional travel will be required to customer sites (hatcheries).
