Job summary

Capital One in Chicago seeks an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to design, build and scale ML models and platforms at scale. You will collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to deliver production-grade solutions, retrain and monitor models, and implement reliable CI/CD for AI workflows.

The role requires extensive experience in Python/Java/Golang/C++, ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and deploying in cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) with Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, ML or related quantitative field.
• At least 6 years of Python/Java/Golang/C++ experience.
• At least 6 years ML experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• At least 6 years operating large-scale distributed systems (Spark, Ray).
• At least 4 years deploying ML in production on AWS, GCP or Azure with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver ML models with Product and Data Science teams.
• Build and scale multi-tenant platforms for training/serving at scale.
• Inform infrastructure decisions: model choice, data, features, training and validation.
• Write and test application code; automate tests and deployment.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team for state-of-the-art AI apps.
• Retrain, maintain and monitor models in production.
• Construct optimized data pipelines for ML training/evaluation.
• Apply CI/CD, testing and monitoring to ML code deployments.
• Ensure governance and responsible, explainable AI; code quality.
• Use Python, Scala or Java for implementation.
