Job summary

5 Legal is seeking an associate to join its M&A and Private Equity Practice Group in Boston. The ideal candidate has 6-8 years of M&A experience and will lead the drafting and negotiation of definitive and ancillary documents while managing deal processes and client relationships.

Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, a high degree of maturity, and the ability to supervise junior associates on M&A matters.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of M&A experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating definitive and ancillary documents.
• Experience managing deal processes and client relationships.
• Ability to supervise junior associates and handle day-to-day matters on M&A-related matters.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; mature business sense.
• Large regional, national or international law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting and negotiation of M&A agreements and ancillary documents.
• Manage the deal process and maintain client relationships.
• Supervise junior associates and allocate day-to-day tasks on M&A matters.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel to move deals forward.
