Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health seeks a Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide nursing support in outpatient Urology settings. You will assist with cystoscopies, start IVs, perform venipuncture, administer medications, and help with patient flow.

You will travel to UCLA Urology clinics for coverage and contribute to teaching plans for patient self-care. Strong teamwork and communication are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• CA LVN license with IV and blood withdrawal certification.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to travel to other UCLA Urology clinics as needed.
• Ability to assess patients and take appropriate action.
• Skill at setting up and maintaining sterile fields.
• Ability to communicate effectively and establish cooperative working relationships.
• Knowledge of administering intramuscular and oral medications and monitoring IV.
• Ability to write concise progress notes.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in an outpatient setting.
• Assist with urologic procedures such as cystoscopies and bladder installations.
• Start IVs and perform venipuncture.
• Administer medications and monitor IVs.
• Manage patient flow and provide back-up for the clinic front desk.
• Travel to UCLA Urology clinics throughout the community as assigned.
