Job summary

UC San Diego Health in Encinitas is hiring a Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for our Primary Care clinic. The role supports clinic operations in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, triages patients, assists with examinations, administers medications, draws blood, and prepares specimens.

You will provide patient education, maintain safety standards, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued by the state of California.
• BART or BLS certification required at hire with plan to obtain within 6 months.
• Two years LVN experience in a similar clinic setting is required.
• Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) and charting.
• Ability to obtain vital signs, venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assist in patient triage and examinations.
• Administer medications and perform wound care.
• Draw blood, collect and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Provide patient education and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support clinic operations.
