Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health provides care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting, requiring a licensed vocational nurse to deliver direct patient care under supervision.

You will collaborate with clinic leadership, physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, LVNs and staff to ensure high-quality care while recognizing and responding to normal and abnormal patient conditions, including emergencies, and coordinating care per departmental policies and priorities.

Qualifications

• Active CA LVN license with IV Therapy and blood withdrawal certification.
• BLS certification from Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
• Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
• Knowledge of symptomatology of common and/or life-threatening medical problems.
• Interpersonal skills for cooperative teamwork with physicians, staff and other health providers.
• Performs phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other skills within scope of practice.
• Proficiency in computer skills and electronic patient care systems.

Responsibilities
