Job summary

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI. The Product Engineering, Electrical Equipment Team seeks a senior design leader to own the LV/MV switchgear, BBU, and busway lineup, drive the certification strategy, and coordinate EE, ME, controls and drafting.

This is a hands-on, leadership-heavy role focused on scalable, safe, certificated gear for data-center projects. You will shape ratings philosophy, decide make-vs-buy, and guide a 9-person gear team.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in switchgear and electrical equipment design.
• Experience leading design teams at an OEM (Powell, IEM, Eaton, ABB or equivalent).
• Experience with UL 891/1558 or IEC 61439 listings and witness testing at labs.
• Experience in handling short-circuit test failures and retests.
• Ownership of product architecture across LV/MV lineup including BBU integration.
• Ability to structure a 9-person gear team and staffing decisions.
• Defending ratings philosophy against test labs and cost targets.

Responsibilities

• Own product architecture across LV/MV switchgear, BBU, and busway lineup.
• Lead end-to-end certification strategy: NRTL relationships, test campaigns, lab bookings and budgets.
• Guide the gear design team across EE, ME, controls, and drafting.
• Set the ratings philosophy for short-circuit, withstand and temperature-rise design standards.
• Make make-vs-buy recommendations per product category backed by cost, schedule and risk.
