Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced spacecraft navigation engineer to develop production navigation software for lunar missions. You will implement sensor I/O, state estimation, and flight-support tools using C, C++, Rust, and Python.

You will also develop and test navigation algorithms, build simulation environments, and work with hardware vendors to integrate sensors. A strong background in Kalman filters and state estimation is essential.

Qualifications

  • MS degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of navigation systems experience.
  • Strong programming in Rust, C++, or C.
  • Experience with state estimation algorithms and Kalman filters for spacecraft navigation.
  • Understanding of spacecraft dynamics and coordinate systems.
  • US citizenship or eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy navigation software for lunar spacecraft using C, C++, Rust, and Python.
  • Develop navigation and sensor fusion algorithms and test programs.
  • Create navigation simulations and perform system analyses.
  • Interface with navigation hardware vendors and support flight operations.
  • Collaborate with GNC, Flight Software, Systems Engineering, and Operations.
  • Uphold Blue Origin leadership principles.
